Fun and Effective Practice
I really enjoyed putting this kit together and it provided a lot of opportunity to improve skills. I ordered two kits in 17 gauge steel. I put the first one together using TIG fusion (autogenous) welds. I consider myself a beginner on TIG so the key learning opportunities included parts preparation, fixturing for good edge fit, tack welds, fusion welds, importance of tapering current at end of run. I also chose to sand my welds with a flap disk since my end goal is to improve skills for body work on a 1940 Ford. I find the size of the parts appropriate for learning. On each cube, you need to do numerous tacks and 12 linear welds. I don’t need a lot long straight runs for training compared to the skills of setup, starting and ending a bead. I may use filler rod on the 2nd kit since I definitely need to work on feeding filler rod - haven’t decided.

Great for beginners like me!
This was my first "project" with a flux core welder. I am just getting into welding, and the kit definitely helped me practice and figure out what accessories I needed for future projects (clamps, magnets, table and welder settings, sanding wheels, etc.). Before this I was practicing with steel from the department store that was twice the cost and limited in what I could do with my low skill level.

Very Cool
Seems pretty cool! Can't wait to get started on these. Maybe a little smaller than I expected. Purchased the magnets separately. Seems they will be helpful.

Smaller than imagined
Great tug welding practice.

Bad welding doesn't mean bad metal
Can't blame the metal for my terrible welding skills! Perfect thickness to practice on and a great learning tool.

Good for practice welding
I bought this to practice TIG welding. Everything is good except for the fact that some of the coupons were rusty. I certainly removed the rust but, better care should be taken to prevent rust.

Best for brazing, not sticking.
This gauge is suitable for brazing practice but not stick welding. The laser which cut the pieces would be fun to have.

"Comprehensive Skill Enhancement Training Kit"?! As others have noted, you're not getting much for your money here - the 24 pieces once separated are small (half have approx 2" sides and the other half approx 1-1/4" sides) and don't allow any significant distance to really practice your welding skills Found several local metal stores all have 'scraps and ends' sold either by the box or by weight - much better value and variety including some much longer runs for practicing
