This whitening gel is the same one I used to only be able to get through my dentist. I'm happy I can now buy this through Amazon. It whitens my teeth better than any other product out there. In the past, we had to buy teeth whitening trays from dentists. Now there are lots of options for inexpensive do-it-yourself trays that are just as good as the professional ones that will work perfectly with this gel. Be careful if you are not used to this type of whitener, 45% is very strong, so it should be left in place for a short time (the seller recommends 15-30 minutes). Trust me, that is long enough, and you will get good results without needing to go longer. And, make sure you do not let this sit for any time on your gums. As with any whitening gel, it will create a little ulcer if left too long. Remove the tray, wipe the gel off your gums and the corresponding area of the tray the minute you feel any burning, then put the tray back in. My dentist taught me to put only a small dot of gel at each tooth tip in the tray. Do not draw a line of gel along the inside of the trays; that's way too much gel, and do not place the gel dots at the top edge of the trays (where the gums are). Trust me, I've been whitening for many years. A little bit of gel goes a long way, and the gel will foam and cover your entire tooth surface. Four tubes of gel should last you approximately six months, even with weekly use. You also most likely do not need to whiten the tongue side of your teeth or your molars. Granted, there are a few folks who may want to. We've been told veneers cannot be whitened, but I have not found that to be false. My front teeth have had cosmetic work, and this gel does whiten them. There is a little bit of difference in the shade from my real teeth and the cosmetic work areas, but that is less obvious when I'm whitening on a regular basis. If the gel consistency isn't ideal, try storing the tubes in the refrigerator before use. At the very least, store the tubes there and store the one you're currently using at room temperature. Whitening gels can cause dental sensitivity; try brushing with a toothpaste for sensitive teeth, which will help with that. If you still have sensitivity, try their 10-35% gels.

These work so well and so fast that you need to be VERY careful about the timing. It’s such a high percentage, at 45%, that it bleached my gums pure white after 20 minutes. Not exactly the look I was going for at the party that night!! luckily, it goes back to normal in a couple of days. You should check results after about five minutes and see how it looks.

This whitening gel really does work but needs to be used for at least 5 consecutive days to start. This advice came from my dental hygienist. I use it for one hour at a time because it can cause your teeth and/or gums to be sensitive. With that in mind, I definitely recommend it for gentle teeth whitening!

The consistency isn't good, I'm not sure why. As soon as I opened a strong product went flying out. Then any time I push to get product out, too much comes out. The product just balls up and it's hard to put it where you want it. You definitely need trays to keep the product off of your gums. I will say, It is very potent and it works! I am extremely happy with the results

This product felt expired but it wasn’t. I’ve used opalescence many times. Most times I use the 35% and it burns and bleaches my gums a little but works very well. I was anxious to use the 45% thinking that the burning could be too extreme for me. I felt NOTHING with this product and I saw no whitening, very disappointed. I thought that maybe the product was expired do I checked. It was not but it definitely did not work compared to the opalescence I’ve used over the past 10 years.
