Spectacular fan. The design of it is appealing and it is very well constructed. On the low setting there is no motor hum, on the medium setting it is silent, and on the high setting the only sound is the air rush. It was very easy to install and mounts solidly. Secure the mounting plate to your ceiling box, hang the fan on the hook while you connect the (2) AC wires, secure the fan to the bracket and you're done. I see no wobble or vibration at all. I had it installed in about 15 minutes. This type of designer fan has a few items that I don't love but they all have these issues - the bulb in the fan and battery in the remote are not the most popular standards. Also, the battery for the remote came in very tight cellophane where it wasn't obvious the battery was in cellophane. I admit I was excited to try the fan right away and didn't notice the battery wrap and almost started troubleshooting when I looked closer at the battery for +/- verification and finally saw it was in cellophane. :)

This is a very well-made fan, nice design and the blade installation is very fast and efficient. But, the one I purchased is faulty because I cannot change the direction of the blades. Unlike most fans, it has an *electronic* (vs. manual switch) change-of-direction feature you adjust with the remote. Mine is stuck in "winter" mode, which I never use, so its effectiveness as a cooling fan is drastically diminished. I'm contacting the seller to see how they resolve this and will increase/decrease my rating accordingly. Fwiw, this is one of two fans I ordered from this company and the second one had issues too.

We have an old 3-level townhouse with very low ceilings. Even though we recently purchased a new Trane air conditioning unit, the top floor remained warm. While renovating the hallway, we discovered a ceiling fan would be optimal in helping to circulate the air on the entire floor. Our first purchase was the Hampton "Andross" fan from Home Depot. My husband, who is very gifted with carpentry and electrical installs, worked for hours trying to balance the blades and increase air flow. We lived with this fan for one week hoping it would get better but it didn't. Horrible fan. Noisy, wobbly, and no moving air. The price was cheap and that's the product we got. Returned it. THIS MINKA FAN IS INCREDIBLE! Easy install. No blade balancing needed. Zero noise. It really moves the air! Perfect for the hallway. Noticeably helps to keep the top floor cooler. Works as a great companion to the air conditioner. Thank you Minka! What a relief. ... Oh yeah. Looks great too.

installed this in a small bedroom. strange. install is easy. all remote controlled. all you need is a hot wire in the ceilng. other minka fan Minka Aire F803-DK 58IN ARTEMIS FAN-DISTRESSED KO.. ok after a few months i started to get bad motor sounds.. almost like the windings putting out a loud buzz..i took fan down. lubed everything. reassembled it and same.. not right away but after abouit 15 minutes it starts.. almost like it is overheating. i even tried using another power source just in case but same results. of course fan was out of warranty.. there is just something wrong with this model as i have bought and had good results from minka aire. i did buy another brand fan and threw this in the garbage..i bought a hunter. this was a waste of my time and money.

I just had this installed 2 weeks ago. It is a VERY quiet fan. Very sleek and contemporary looking. The remote is key to this fan. I cannot wait to test it out in the hot summer months. Two cons: I am a little disappointed with how dim the lightbulb is, and given it's a smaller bulb it doesn't project light around the room too well, but I can get over that aspect. Also, was a little shocked that at this price the blades were plastic (I ordered the stainless steel model) but you can't really tell once it's mounted. Overall a really great fan. Worth the money.

I've had this fan for a good long while now, so I feel like I know the product pretty well. It was easy to install (did it alone in a relatively low-ceilinged room). It looks amazing. It has a remote control. It has a reversible motor. It is easy to clean. It is well-balanced (didn't have to fiddle with any of the balance weights). Unfortunately: 1) It moves hardly any air at all. And I say this as a user to installed this in a pretty small room. It doesn't matter what direction the motor is spinning - airflow is pathetic. 2) On the "high" setting it is pretty noisy, which is disappointing because in "low" and "medium" it's quiet, with a very soft, soothing white noise. On "high", you can hear the whine of the motor AND you can hear the blades chopping the surrounding air. 3) It has only one lightbulb socket, so if you need your ceiling fan to also serve as the primary light source in a room, it really is insufficient. 4) I don't know what the hell is wrong with this thing, but it seems to cause lightbulbs to burn out too frequently. Through the years I've had to change the halogen bulbs every 2 to 4 months. I even tried an LED bulb, but that, too died in this fan after a few months. I've finally reached a point where I'm sick of this fan. If it moved a lot of air I would probably keep it and just keep buying new bulbs every so often, because it wasn't cheap and I'd hate to just write it off as a loss. But all of its cons have now pushed me over the edge and I'm gonna buy a new fan and get rid of this one.

Bought 2 of these for the basement and they look great! I needed low profile, heavier looking fans without the hanging chain and these were perfect. Love the colours and the shape/lines. Work well - no issues to-date.

Beautiful and solid, robust - I'm thinking buying another one for the room...
