Super Sharp. Extremely Heavy Blade
Best Knife Ever

Nice knife for the price.
Good reviews often don’t say much. I fulfill that prophecy. The metal will stain over time if that bothers you, beware. I love it so far.

Great knife that arrived chipped
I wanted a good Deba to match the Yanagiba I got in Tokyo years ago. This matches the style (and comes close to the quality, at least so far) of my ¥40,000 knife. The only reason I took off a star was because it arrived with a chipped tip. Perhaps this was a return, but it never should have been sent to a customer (unless it was clearly sold as B-stock). Rather than return it, I’m going to attempt repair on my knife sharpener, and consider this a life lesson about buying knives online.

Fantastic control, very high quality
Something about the weight and the shape of this knife makes it easier to control than a regular chef's knife. It works great for thin slicing tougher cuts of meat. It came with a perfect, amazingly sharp edge. You have to take care of it diligently. It's incredibly high quality steel, but you must wash, dry, and oil it carefully to maintain that beautiful look. It's special, it's different, and so far I think it's a great value.

good quality
This isn't one of the $400 knives but it looks, feels, and cuts just like the ones we saw in Japan. It was a gift for my weeb son, and he is very pleased.
