Solid value and construction
Much better than another option I immediately returned for lack of quality. Blade is solid and firm. Only used it for sabering holiday champagne <successfully> so far but plan on using this to carve out little dove hunting hides in junipers too. In short, it's versatile for multiple critical pursuits :-)

Good quality and a nice balance
Perfect length and I like the grip/ handle. Out the box sharp. Definitely a must have for the yard or end of world scenario.

Good working tool.
Sharp out of box. Handle fits well in the hand. Worked with one swipe on green brush up to 1" dia. Saw was adequate for frequent use. I compare this machete with my Fiskars hook bill and for the $20 it was worth it!

Easy to handle
Great item for the 20 dollars paid. The size is just perfect for my 12 yr old twin boys to "adventure" with when we are camping leaving my full size machete alone for me to use. Sharp enough and so far materials and built seem durable.

It’s good
Great size for the youth who is stepping into the woods and for light yard work. Only wish the case was made better to be adjustable for different carry

Solid choice for small jobs and infrequent use.
Decent value for the $. For heavy clearing jobs I'd spend more and buy a better tool.

Instantly grew more chest hair with this on my belt
As a suburban dad I have surprisingly little experience with a machete. For watching Indiana Jones and romancing the stone as a kid I figured I would have many more occasions to need a machete. It was not until I turned 45 that I purchased my first machete. This was the one I chose quality feels good long stocks of grass and bamboo shutter when they see me walk with this. I haven’t had a chance to visit the Florida Everglades and forge my own path however, I feel like I’ll be prepared when that time comes you too Can be prepared with purchase of the bear Grylls.

The price is right but
Price is right but I wouldn’t buy it again. I wanted to use it to cut the occasional briar along a path. It doesn’t work very well.

This is a great machete, cuts well if getting close to stem. Use tip, works best when cutting anywhere on branch

This is the ideal tool to cut down corn stalks after harvest. It remains sharp for long enough to clear a large number of stalks. Sharpening is simple and straight-forward. The sheath ensures that you don't cut yourself.

Do a lot of summer hikes and this comes in handy, great quality and strong steel! Keeps its edge very well!

The Bear Grylls brand survival machete with saw is the latest product release in the well-known adventurer’s growing portfolio of outdoor adventure outfitting equipment. Purportedly designed after similar products used by Australian aboriginals, this extremely light weight and easy to carry and use knife can make a versatile addition for outdoor enthusiasts to consider. Weighing less than 1 pound and with a total length of 17 inches, this knife features almost 12 inches of black stainless steel cutting blade firmly embedded into a 6 inch long handle grip custom formed to fit most hand sizes for comfort and ease of use. For added versatility and capabilities, the upper edge of the blade features a serrated saw blade to add further capabilities of the knife. A robust sheath is included to safely store and transport the knife when not in use. We immediately put the knife to the test here at the tree farm home base. Time to get down and dirty! The first task was to cut through and separate the dense root structure of hostas for transplanting purposes. The attached pictures and video capture the action with our teenage summer helper enjoying stand-in full on Rambo machete hacking duties on behalf of Bear Grylls who was unfortunately not able to attend the ceremony. Happy to report that the knife made this task much faster and easier than traditional shovel splitting, and with less bruising and collateral damage to the plants. Next test was using the serrated edge to perform the same task. Results here were not nearly as good. The serrated teeth are too wide (thick) to cut effectively. There is always compromise when a product is designed for multiple purposes. In this case, the top side of the blade needs to be thick enough to support the blade strength for hacking and other tough uses. However, a thick blade is also difficult to push through the receiving object, in this case the root ball. We also tried using the blade in full machete mode in the on-site forest. Progress was slow when trying to hack through branches. No real fault of the knife however as there is only so much one can expect from such a lightweight device. Perhaps the best way to summarize this knife is to praise its versatility and potential capabilities in assisting outdoor adventure activities, while simultaneously respecting the size and weight limitations of transporting and storing during the rigours of backcountry travel. Having the right tool for the right job is always a plus. Conclusion: A versatile knife for assisting outdoor adventure activities. An overall product score of 4/5 is assigned accordingly.
