I ordered this before reading the bad reviews. This is a Christmas present so thought I would try it first. I used a 4 hour tealight bit slow but it worked. Video on second tea light and it’s really going. Not a Mathmos but for the price good effort. Very pleased

Ordered this product it arrived damaged. Returned and reordered. Second one was faulty. Like others have mentioned a standard tea light doesn’t work on this no matter how long you have it lightened. Purchased large tea lights, even after 4 hours no change. Gave it a tiny tap and the wax just clumps together at the top as it doesn’t get hot enough. Won’t be purchasing a third.

Does exactly what it says in the instructions. No fuss. Took it out of the box, popped it on my desk, lit a tea light candle, left it for an hour or so and then watched the lava bubbles until I went to bed. Blew out the candle and noticed I hadn’t even used much of the tea light by morning. Energy efficient, calming (watching the bubbles and flames together), made well, portable and looks great.

!!!You need 8HR!!! chunky tealight candles for any chance of this working. This isn't the best when it comes to candle-powered lava lamps, but the bubbling of the wax doesn't match an electric-powered one but its still a cute little desk lamp. with all that said not bad for £15 EDIT: I actually dropped this by accident and it did not smash so its going up a star

Absolutely love my new lamp. I've had lava lamps before but all electronic. The bace of this one is very sturdy and everything is firmly glued together. It takes around 45 minutes to an hour to get it going but once it does it's a nice relaxing experience. The opening for the candle is also curved enough to protect the flame from the fan in the room. This is perfect for tea time. I would suggest that anyone buying it also invest in some slow burning tea light candles

The idea is fab! However no light goes through to the lamp, so it’s dim. Basically you can’t have it on in the evening or you’ll just see a candle and no lava. Bulbs light the area up.

Worked beautifully for the first 2 days, had cracked by day 3. Only used tealight heat, for less than 4 hours at a time. Shame, as otherwise this felt sturdy and well-made - the glass quality seems poor.
