My eyes were crossing with the near identical machines littered all over Amazon. It's also difficult to tell the difference between a $50 machine a $120 machine when they look near the same and have a wacky company name that seems only made to brand that machine. Without buying and testing them all, they all have the same features and sadly seem like they're just mass produced knock-offs of knock-offs. Quality? You probably won't find out until a few years later if you're lucky. I was really pleased with the Rockville purchase. Immediately, I could tell this was a more solidly built machine with thoughtful, well-written instructions. I was even taken aback with how many features this machine has and the ability to control. What I really like, and what I think is a MUST for fog machines, is the timer system. I actually have another machine with this control and it was the feature I wanted the most. Unfortunately, my other machine's pump died and while I did manage to repair it, I wasn't sure I would succeed in time for Halloween. The Rockville machine's controls allow for interval and duration like my other machine, and also intensity! The ability to set and forget these controls allows you to dictate exactly how much fog you're pumping out based on the occasion and not have to manually activate. I like to set my machine up well in advance of Halloween on the evenings - with my blacklight spots turning the foggy air purple, it's a cool effect. With the timing/duration/intensity controls, I can make sure I don't run out of fog juice before the main event. If you've bought any cheap atmospheric LED lights before, you typically get a generic remote and have to just figure out how to control the lights. While I actually didn't buy this machine for the lighting, the precision by which you can mix colors and intensities was a pleasant surprise - and it has an LED display. On top of that, if you have XLR cable driven sound, you can run the plug through the machine to get light pulsating to your beat. Maaaybe I'll use that sometime. Even if I don't, it's just another sign this machine is a step above other choices on here. It's intended as a starter effects machine for DJs, which tells me it's designed for a more demanding client than the masses of machines designed for once-a-year holiday stuff. Very happy with this purchase. It's a bargain.

Bought if for Halloween and it was worth every penny. I not only fogged my front yard, making for the creepiest house in the neighborhood, but I often covered the whole street and half the block. My decorations were pretty sparse so the fog was the star of the show....and the kids loved it! I previously had used a cheap machine and it was nowhere near effective. There was a breeze that kept switching directions, which a smaller machine simply wouldn't have been able to deal with. When the breeze did stop, it was so hard to see that traffic had to slow down, which actually made the street safer (sounds counterintuitive, I know). Great investment at a great price for so much joy.

Worked well for one Halloween (just the one night), cleaned and stored according to the directions. Next Halloween night I used the same brand of fluid and it barely produces fog despite using the whole tank of fluid. I try to clean it out again and the pump barely pulls anymore liquid

Great fog machine! Would definitely recommend. This was my 5th Halloween event. Having a large removable fog juice container is a must. Also, make sure after use, to run DI water thru unit prior to storage.

Does the job . I had it for a number of years now with no issues

I got this for Halloween. It was fantastic. It ran for hours a day without issue over the course of a month. Overall very happy for the price. I used it with DMX and it was great!

Machine was defective, but the seller let us return the item when we requested one day after the 30 day period, so that's why 5 stars.
