Kidney Health Kidney Support Supplement for Dogs (4 Ounces)

My Westie had stage 2 kidney failure 6 months ago. I did some research and added this product and the Dr Harvey’s multi vitamin. I also make the dogs food and leaned more heavily to grains, oats and fresh veggies with turkey and beef only. Wanted to achieve a carb rich lower protein fresh food. At her 6 months visit her kidney failure is gone via blood test results. All her tests are normal and her urine is free from protein. Highly recommend both products. We are very happy dog parents today.

This formula has some herbs which have had success treating kidney failure in dogs. Because my dog is in early stage of kf, his erratic and lower appetite prevents him from eating it in his food, so I’ve been mixing it with lamb green tripe, which btw is an excellent food for pets in kf plus dogs and cats love it. I add water to it also with the canned tripe to thin it out so it can pass through a syringe. Compared to the blood tonics I’ve been administering with a syringe, he doesn’t mind the taste at all. I’m hopeful it will lower his values and improve his appetite. Today is day one for us. Day 2: I’m so excited to see my dog’s progress since I started Dr. Harvey’s! My dog had reached a plateau before starting this, only eating late evening and not exactly with much appetite. That had been going on for 2 weeks and prior to his herb tonics he hadn’t eaten in 2 weeks and was vomiting bile. Today he devoured his food and then licked his bowl! Plus after his daily walk on this very warm day he chased our other dog in the yard running in circles! This is new energy especially since before I started him yesterday he was depressed all day refusing food till late in the day. This is not a coincidence! I’ve been taking notes daily on my observations and am very excited about this new improvement! I’ll continue what I’m doing with the addition of Dr Harvey’s kidney formula. Also so glad it contains chitosan which naturally binds phosphorus instead of drugs from the vet which contains aluminum. Thank you Dr Harvey!

I am thrilled to have discovered Dr Harvey's! When my beloved Catahoula, Clarke, had elevated kidney enzymes show in his last old man routine blood work, I immediately started researching how to help prevent further increases. I own and operate a pet care company and I knew that prescription food was never going to be an option for any of my kids! view animal prescription diets in the same way I view many human pharmaceuticals where your veterinarian gets a commission from the product and therefore encourages usage when the reality is that most of those foods create a variety of secondary issues from all of the crap that is in them. Read a label sometime and you will be shocked at the bounty of ingredients that you can't even begin to pronounce. I have always found that for any dietary need you can find an alternative to a prescription diet that is far more healthy for your fur babes. Clarke's enzymes were elevated but he had not crossed the line into kidney disease, knock on wood. I came across this supplement by Dr Harvey's and based on the ingredients and amazing reviews I decided it was the one for my boy. He is on his 4th container now and although I haven't done any repeat blood work, his water intake has drastically reduced, which is an awesome and telling sign! The micro-powdered supplement gets added to his food twice daily (I also changed his feeding guidelines to be more kidney friendly) and from the moment I opened the 1st canister I was impressed by the consistency and the delicious smell! I have used Eastern medicine for years and this supplement reminds me very much one of those tried & true food, three thousand-year-old specialty blends. One container lasts us about 15 days, which may seem costly, but Clarke is more than worth it and I can actually SEE the results! I would wholeheartedly recommend the supplement to anybody who needs a little extra protection for their dogs kidneys!! Dr Harvey's seems to have their head and her heart in the right place and based on my positive experiences I have also started feeding Clarke and his brother their Canine Health dehydrated food base, which looks absolutely amazing but that is for another review! Lastly, you will notice that in my review I never use the word "pet". I'm not a huge fan of the concept of us "owning" animals and I noticed immediately that Dr. Harvey's shares the same attitude. Not once in there literature did I read the word "pet". It might sound silly but it tells me that their approach to companion animal care is one that puts the animals first and that they believe in the relationships that we share with our animal friends. My dogs labs have improved greatly since using Dr. Harvey's products. They are a customer orientated company and have been extremely helpful. My dog loves the food and this supplement.

I was hesitant on this purchase because some reviews leaned in the direction of , "My Dog didn't like it." Well, I am glad to say, my girl liked it. On the other hand my other dog wouldn't touch her bowl when I tested to see if she would eat it mixed in. This dog eats anything but she sniffed her bowl and walked away. Good thing the Kidney Support Supplement was not purchased for her. I purchased a second tub and when complete, I will take my girl into the Vet to see if her kidney numbers improved. That will be the real test of Dr. Harvey's Kidney Health Kidney Support Supplement. I will update this post with the results. I hope it works.

I have to say this company has the best customer service. It’s like calling the vet you have used for 20 years! The product is excellent my dog is 17 years old and keeps going like an energizer bunny! These products are helping him to live his best life!

Dog wouldn't have anything to do with this - no matter how I tried to incorporate it. BEWARE - you cannot return this! Amazon should insist that "Dr. Harvey" take returns. At least I can warn others! I usually check to see if a new item I am trying for my dogs is returnable before I purchase...unfortunately for me, in my quest to help one of my dogs with kidney issues, I just ordered. UGH.

I have a 12.5-pound Yorkie Pin who was diagnosed with kidney failure in December. Doc said to make sure to keep her eating and to keep weight on her. I would do anything to keep my Pookie around. She is my heart dog. If you are like me, it is worth a shot of course. However, she is a meat-and-potatoes type of girl. I can’t say if it would help or not unfortunately because she couldn’t get past the cinnamon smell. I may try to feed it to my other dog, a 60-pound mixed breed (whose DNA results are still pending).

The supplement came in good condition. Previously bought from another seller and the powder didnt appear to be fresh. Realize how seller store the product is very important. My dog’s regular supplement for the past one over years as she’s on various medications and supplements.

we changed over to this hoping to maintain my senior dog’s degenerative kidney values from going up. after using it for 6mth, we went for his routine check and was please to find out that his kidney values are back to normal! highly recommend this!

The dogs did not like the smell and taste so it was not used at all.
