I thought this was a nose ring? Turns out I was able to use it to mount my phone in my jeep. 17mm mount balls, with a few other pieces and I've got a nice Magnetic charger mount. Still looking for a nose ring

Construction is solid but still reasonably light weight. The grooves on the balls really does help the clamps lock on! It is 17mm at either end so it will fit in some RAM B mounts but most of them are expecting size B or 1" (25mm) and won't be able to clamp down enough to lock onto this. Also the add shows this working with a variety of standard cells cradles but they typically use 14mm and this is too big for them. Just be sure that whatever RAM or cradle mount you are planning on using is expecting a 17mm ball, or very close to it.

This 17mm extender is full coated metal and very solid. Works exactly for what it is intended to. Great way to get extra flexibility for your cellphone holder in the car.
