Almost bought a battery one, then saw this one. It is super powerful and cuts everything like butter.

I've used a lot of tools, including a lot of DeWalt tools, over the years, and I've very rarely been disappointed by this brand. They've made several of my favorite tools--ones that get use on almost every project I do--and this jigsaw is no exception. As soon as I started working with it, I could tell I was going to enjoy it, but the more I've used it, the better I feel about my purchase. The saw works perfectly, as far as I can tell, and is versatile enough to be useful in almost any project, including a shoe that bevels up to 45 degrees and a four-position orbital setting (though I personally always keep mine turned off). The tool is also incredibly durable. This thing is built to last, and you'll be happily working with it for many years to come.

I've historically used cheaper jig saws in my life since I rarely had a reason for one in my shop. recently, I've been doing more and more work with a jig saw and have burned through several in the past few months due to them slipping or just not being able to perform. So I took the dive and upgraded to a known good brand and a few extra dollars from what I would have typically spent. I used this saw on a project this past weekend where I needed to trim some panels that were already tacked onto a shed frame. This saw handled it without issue. It is strong too, I found myself cutting into the frame a couple of times and only noticed because my partner was on the other side telling me. The saw would have just plowed through 2x4s and 1/2" ply if I didn't have my buddy there.

I bought this jig saw after running through three Black and Decker jig saws. The first Black and Decker was bought new and had a week motor that wore out after at least two decades of light use. I bought two used Black and Decker jig saws with and strong motors. One had a week blade mechanism and the other had tilt mechanism that could not hold the jig saw level. Finally I decided to save up for a good jig saw. I bought this jig saw. I noticed one problem right away. The tilt mechanism was adjusted wrong. When I tried a regular screwdriver, it slipped and nicked the face of the bolt which is apparently made of very soft metal I found I very big screwdriver and unscrewed the bolt and propositioned it. I tightened the bolt down, but the angel is still off. This jig saw has orbital settings that I had to get used to. 0 is for straight cutting and 1,2,3 are for curved cuts. When set to 0, it can only cut strait for about a foot, if you have a stead hand. The orbital settings do not makes since to me, because my Black and Decker's cut fine without settings. The motor has has plenty of power to cut through 2x4's, when I used when I use my Bosch T345xf3 blade, that works well with this jig saw. The blade mechanism is excellent. I am not impressed with this jig saw, but it is a good attempt at quality. It is better than the; Black and Decker as well as Skill jig saws that I have used. I can not say to much, about it because the one a bought was used and scratched up, which is a disappointment, considering that I paid a good deal of money for it. The carry case is very well designed, so for what it is worth it is a nice jig saw, compared to any thing that I have previously used.

I got this initially for just one project but have found myself using it for other items as well. It has a lot of features, maybe more than I will be using. Having said that the saw is very sturdy and works great. I'd buy it again. A bit heavy but not an issue when in use.
