I was really hoping these colors would resemble the way they looked online, as I have been wanting to try some new warm red/brown lip colors. The colors looked so pretty, and were exactly what I had been looking for. I was also excited about trying a new Covergirl product. I've used their products for years, and they've performed well. But when the lipsticks arrived, it was a real let-down. The colors I received were nowhere near like the colors shown. What I purchased, really, are two very expensive lip balms. Cause I'm sure not going to wear the colors I received as lipstick. I ordered 300 "Warm Taupe" and 360 "Cocoa Whirl." Warm Taupe is shown as a vibrant warm red brown. On my lips, it is a strange chalky, grayish, pale pink. I have fair skin with warm undertones, most resembling the skin tone of the woman whose lips are shown in the lower right hand corner of the four-pane skin tone swatch comparison. So it really does not suit me, as it looks NOTHING like the color she is shown wearing. Cocoa Whirl is depicted as a very similar color to Warm Taupe, only a bit deeper. Weirdly- Cocoa Whirl is even chalkier and pastier and more gray pink, even farther away from what I thought it might be, which was also nice, deeper warm red brown. I kept trying the two colors with different lip liners, but couldn't make them work. They are both just too pasty-pale and pink looking. These colors are a huge disappointment. They make my skin tone look drab and gray, like I have the flu. I accept that the color shown on a computer monitor in an ad for a lipstick and the color you are going to get will differ. That's inevitable. But this was not a minor difference from the colors depicted to what I got- it was an enormous difference. I shudder to think what I would have received if I ordered a color like Bamboo, which looks like a nice warm neutral. It probably would make me look like a corpse. The formula of the lipstick is actually quite nice- very rich and creamy. It doesn't feel like it is going to be particularly long-wearing; just about average, like any other non-liquid lipstick. This lipstick is well pigmented, but it appears to contain a lot of fillers, like titanium and zinc, as the colors are quite chalky-looking. Their containers are really nice- totally clear heavy plastic. They have a very slight berry scent and no flavor that I can detect. So four stars for formula and packaging, and two (or one, really) for color. It is very handy to order these lipsticks off of Amazon, but if it is at all possible, check the colors out in person, and replenish the color you have tested, and like. That way you will save yourself, hopefully, from being as disappointed as I am.

just added it to my cart on impulse, honestly pretty impressed. It’s super creamy and really pigmented. No strong smell or anything weird either. It doesn’t last long and it’s definitely not smudge-proof, but I don’t really mind reapplying since it’s so affordable. I got Cocoa Whirl and True Petal, both are really pretty shades. They do look a bit lighter in person than the pictures online, but still nice. Nothing fancy, but great for everyday. I’d probably buy more shades.
