Excellent Quality, Really Comfortable, So Satisfying
First off, the Equinox Home Theater seat looks great. Its appearance gives me the impression of being a hand-crafted, leather seat. The ambient lighting around the base, cup-holders, and control panel (when buttons are pressed) accentuate it very nicely. The whole thing just looks beautiful. It is also amazingly comfortable. My butt sinks very softly into the leather seating. And aside from being able to recline, the lumbar support means my lower back doesn't feel the "gap" behind it I feel in most seats and chairs. I adjust the lumbar where I want it, and I can save its position to memory! The same applies to the headrest. I can easily feel more "upright" while fuly reclined, or completely laid back for a movie nap! Other built-in features I have found immediately useful were the memory button (as mentioned), the USB charging port, and the tray table. Obviously, the USB port is great because I don't have to run a cable to the chair if I'm on one of my devices. And If I choose to use the tray table, I'm able to easily mount it on either the left or right arm-rests. It's a really convenient option for when I have to snack or use a tablet. A feature I had added to the chair was the SoundShaker. I love watching movies, either on DVD or Netflix. And after a binge-watching session this last weekend, I found watching movies much more immersive--especially with the SoundShaker. Feeling like the room is alive with the reactions of what happens on-screen really draws you into the experience. Interestingly, the SoundShaker did not seem to affect the couch next to my seat. I also do a lot of gaming. This is a serious upgrade from my old gaming chair!

Not exactly as I was expecting, but a great recliner, regardless!
Buying online is a little risky, because you can't actually feel the material. This is my second online recliner, as I immediately returned the last one I bought. I decided to risk it one more time, and I'm not disappointed at all. However, from the pics, I was expecting buttery-soft leather, which it's not. It's a tough leather, like what you'd expect when looking at high-quality, real leather recliners. I'm probably a novice when it comes to knowing about leather, and all the different ways it can be finished, but I can tell that this leather is going to last a lifetime. Speaking of quality, this chair is rock-solid! I broke my last recliner, but I'm confident the Equinox will handle lots of abuse. One of the things that I thought could use a little design improvement, are the LED lights. - should have a separate switch to turn off the base light - should have a dimmer for the lights The base light is really bright! In my theater room, it would certainly be bright enough to throw off the colors on my projector screen. I've read posts about people adding a dimming cover, sold separately. I think that's a bandaid on the problem. I ended up cutting the zip ties holding the LED rope light on the bottom of the chair, flipping the rope to the other side of the bar it was on, then zip tyjng it in place. Made a huge difference, and it just took a couple minutes! Look through the pics to see how I did it, and the results. One other little gripe I have is the SoundShaker plug. It's set up to accept the proprietary plug from the matching amp, sold separately. It would've been nice if they added an open-ended plug to connect to an external amp. Intead, I'll have to it and replace the plug with a standard RCA plug, or bare POS/neg wires. Other than that, I'm really happy with this recliner! It's really comfortable, and I imagine the leather will soften over time. The price is actually less than many of the leather Lay-Z-Boy recliners I was looking at, and with way more bells and whistles. On top of all that, it's an absolutely beautiful chair! It looks so good in my living room, and makes everything else in the room look a little more classy! I'm definitely going with a row of these in the theater room, when I'm ready.

Had a replacement chair shipped to me within an hour.
Update and upgrade to 5 stars. Within an hour of reporting chair malfunction the seller shipped a replacement chair. Angela from customer service called me, I didn't have to call them, and got the ball rolling on the replacement. 30 minutes after Angela called, Lynn, the customer service manager called to help out as well. Great customer service. The new chair works great, is good quality and most importantly is comfortable. If you have leg, hip, back or neck problems this chair is great. Nice to have your favorite sitting position set to the chairs memory, just push one button and you are good to go. ------- Nice, comfortable chair. Arrived in good condition but missing directions and 1 cup holder liner. Was able to put together pretty easily even without directions, only 2 marked wires to connect, chair back pops right in place. Was really liking the chair. Worked well for first 2 nights, then it stuck in open position. The headrest and lumbar still work but can't close the darn chair. Can't find any loose or disconnected wires. Kinda hard to climb out of when it's locked in full recline. Would have given it full stars before it died, now I'm going have to get it fixed or return it.

Defective unit
I bought two chairs and they look nice, but one of the lighted cup holders and the floor lights on one of the units does not work and there is no information on who to contact to get this fixed or if it is under warranty. There is no customer manual on how to operate the units either. I am not a happy camper with my Seatcraft Experience.....can someone help????

Very comfortable!
Got this chair for my 82 y/o Mother a year ago. She was having problems with her sciatica and has phlebitis in one leg. This chair was absolutely excellent. She was able to learn all the functions quickly. She loves the tray which allows her to do her hobbies (sewing/knitting) and use her computer. The blue lighting is wonderful and looks super neat too. Her sciatica has since healed and to this day the chair works perfectly. Craftmanship and quality are excellent. Assembly is a little tricky but not that bad. It took my Dad 1 hour to get it together. Only part I would pre-warn people about is this thing is HEAVY, One person can not move this beast and God love ya if you have to get it up steps like we did. My Dad actually had to create a pulley system so we could get it up the stairs and into their house. UGH! Other than that I would buy it again!

Right idea. Very wrong execution and I regret buying it.
Edit: I've had some quality issues with the chair in the last 6 months including finding magic marker marks on the leather that cant be removed, and the footrest ripped and left foam all over the house. However, customer service from 4seating has been phenomenal. They shipped me a new one shortly after I contacted them. Unfortunately, since I dont like the chair, I'm going to have to sell it now. Everything about this chair screams high quality - at first. Then you realize how bad it is when its too late and you just paid $1600 for the chair and the soundshaker amp. Every good quality of this chair has a negative side effect. - Love the LED lights. That is, until you have company or open it while watching a movie and everyone in the room is blinded by them. Seriously, that neon light is insanely bright to everyone else. Good thing it just shuts off at random on you. - Love the swivel table, until you realize that its practically impossible to eat from due to the position and it covers half of a cup holder. Also scratches very easily. - The electric recline - who could argue with that - except that the controls are nonsensical, and the chair itself makes this sound thats like the biggest fart you can imagine because of the leather panels rubbing together. But hey, the motor is quiet!! At least I think it is. Cant hear it over the massive fart sound. I hate getting up from this chair. - The memory function - works a couple of times and then just forgets your setting entirely. Suddenly you're flat on your back like youre at the dentist about to get a root canal. - The leather is great quality - nice and thick. I'd love it if my motorcycle jacket was made from it because it wouldnt scratch in a crash. For sitting on, its rough and somehow slippery at the same time. Not good. This is supposed to be top quality leather but its not soft or supple like it should be. - Comfort? Pretty much forget about it. This thing is hard and the padding barely gives. Its like sitting on a rock. I expected to be comfortable after paying $1200 - Soundshaker is cool - but incredibly weak. It takes serious bass sounds coming from my receiver to even register on this thing. I have everything on the amp turned to the max. - The soundshaker receiver (I realize this is a different product, but I consider it part of the chair design to have included this product) - the receiver interferes with every other wifi device you have going in the house. Hope you dont like using your phone or tablet when watching tv. - The headrest - when you adjust it, it should support your neck, not push the top of your head forward. Who thought that would be a good idea? - The arm rests are only half as long as the arm of the chair, so its really more of an elbow rest while 60% of your forearm and hand just dangle from the end. - Bottom portion of the chair is tall. I.. am not. So my feet dangle. - The only fully positive thing I have to say about this chair is the storage in the arm rests. I should really try to send this thing back.

Poor quality!!
At first it was very comfortable but by the 5 th month there was a dent in left armrest. Then that was followed by the lumbar support becoming flat on left side. Highly disappointed for the price I paid I expected it to last for a few years. After all I’m only 145#.

Fantastic Couch with Comfort Dialed In
I ordered the couch almost 2 months ago and have been absolutely content with my purchase. After the white glove delivery, I couldn’t believe how fantastic it looks in the space. I spent some time figuring out the settings to get the right comfort fit for myself, and my wife did the same. This couch has the ability to adjust the lumbar and the headrest. Once we had our spots dialed in (this didn’t take very long), we used the memory setting to lock it in. Now I can be completely comfortable with the touch of a button. The couch has cool blue lighting that gives you the feel of being in a modernistic movie theater. We typically use the lighting when we take a break from watching a movie with all of the lights off. It’s easier to hit the button on the couch and be able to navigate without tripping on a cat, dog, or a coffee table.
