Easy install, does it's job well.

used on a 3in port for a diesel heater when not in use . Very effective not allowing any rodents to get inside to chew up any wiring . Also used as a stop for clean out . no leaks and easy to remove for cleanup when needed .

I had a cheaper plug from Menards that didn't hold up very well and ended up having sewage come back up in my basement. I bought this one as a replacement to plug the hole in my basement and it is rock solid 10 out of 10.

I build model cars and used this plug to make a spray paint can mixer with a piece of 3 inch PVC pipe. Worked pretty well.

While this product's intended use is for capping a PVC plumbing drain pipe for testing and temporary capping, I used it to seal a three inch stainless steel port I installed as a pass-through for my portable generator's power line. Keeps the weather out when the port is not in use and it's easy to install/remove. I've now used it four (4) times since we have been dealing with power outages caused by winter weather - it's doing exactly what I need it to do! If it's working for me in this alternative use, I am sure it would fill it's intended use(s) just as well. I recommend this item without reservation in terms of it's quality and usefulness. The only ding it got in my review is 'value for money'; for the components and simple design it has, it should have been a bit cheaper to purchase through Amazon than what I paid for it.

We had a rubber end cap on the toilet clean out, but a critter chewed through it, so I called our plumber. Yes, there was a bit of nasty spillage, but his father, our original plumber, (RIP) once said such messes were part of the job. His son seems to think otherwise in these days of end-stage capitalism -- it seems our job was too small and too dirty for him to waste his time. So this left me, little Medicare-collecting lady, to fix it myself. I garden, so had top soil to cover the mess, and when that was all absorbed, I loosened the hose-clamp that held on the damaged rubber cap, pulled off the cap with a pair of pliers, stuck the Oatey in the pipe, tightened the screw, and that was that. Perfect, solid fit. It took me five minutes from start to finish (I had to scrunch down on my old lady bones to reach into the hatch to get to the pipe) -- it would have taken him maybe 90 seconds. But thanks to Oatey 33402 End-of-Pipe Gripper Plugs, 3 in, he doesn't have any of my money, and he will no longer waste any of my time. As for the critter -- chew through that, buck-o.

This helped out perfectly for sealing a toilet flange during an ongoing bathroom renovation! Must have for projects that'll take a while to complete.
