Senelier watercolors
These are the best watercolors ever. Very intense color. Small so it fits in my purse.

Vibrant colors
These paints are nice vibrant colors. Creamy texture, clean colors, mix well and a dream to use. They are ideal for travel. Included are 8 colors and one small travel paint brush. The tin has a see thru lid you can use as a pallet. This butterfly was done with only this set and black ink. I especially love the green color in this set. I love them!

Great set, especially with a few add ins and/or adjustments.
Great set of paints, but you may need to add a few cooler colors to have a full double primary set. I had also purchased a Sennelier tester tube set of five, of which I added the colors that were not already included in this set. I recommend removing the plastic and adding half pans with magnets or sticky tack, it will give you room to add more colors if you so choose. You could mix on the plastic lid, but I usually just use a tiny ceramic dish. You could set it up to have a mixing area with some spray paint or tape and paper that was cut to size (may not be the best, but could work). Great value for the price, I love Sennelier watercolors, and highly recommend!

It's a nice little package
It's a nice little package! At the price, it's worth it just for the eight included half pans of nice Sennelier colors. There're only eight pans but it's still a nice range or palette because no spot is wasted on next to useless white or black. Instead of black is a very nice Payne's Grey. Also inside is a cute little, barely adequate brush. The whole thing is almost exactly the size of its inspiration, an Altoids tin. Unfortunately, there's no mixing area and the whole thing feels quite flimsy. But, it is tiny and does have eight nice colors for the price. Obviously it won't be as nice as the enameled brass Winsor & Newton eight-color Bijou Box, but then this unit is so much less expensive!

Buttery watercolors
Love love these watercolors. They’re so beautiful and buttery. The size of the container is perfect for travel as well.

Good paints. Despicable packaging.
Pros: The paints are basically sennelier quality. The price is good. Cons: Packaging is unusable as all the paints fall out of the plastic tray container. Lots of wasted space to carry around. No mixing area. Solutions: Glue or tape the paint into plastic half pans. Glue or tape the plastic half pans into the tin in your preferred working order. Consider adding a full size pan or other contained area to use as a small mixing well. My photos: In the attached photos, I taped my paints into the tin, then taped in 2 full pans to use as small mixing wells. I also added a folded piece of my absorbent watercolor towel (more of a napkin really) to use for cleaning my water brush tip between colors. I kept the tiny included brush because none of my current travel brushes fit in this tiny tin.

Beautiful watercolor
Previously I have used acrylic, but I love watercolor and bought this tiny set after my kids used what little watercolor I had on hand. I'm so glad I did. It is rich color, but blends out sheer no problem. Not chalky, blends beautifully. I bought for hobby, but having g a hard time pulling myself away. I only wish I had bought more hues.

Nice pocket set
Small enough to carry in purse. Highly pigmented smooth gliding paints. The brush that comed eith the set holds more water than you would think. Nice color choices too!

Bought this cute watercolor box, the colours are bright and pigmented , good for wet on wet and dry on wet techniques. The mixing of colours and gradients are beautiful, good for urban sketching, pocket friend with a brush and has space to mix the colours if needed, overall a worthy buy.

I have been looking to upgrade to better quality water colours for awhile and have been doing some pretty rigourous research. I finally narrowed it down to three brands - Sennelier, Daniel Smith and Schmincke. I wanted a pan set as it's just easier for me to work with. So that ruled out Daniel Smith for the time being. The Schmincke are way too expensive for me. So that left the Sennelier. I read everything I could find on the Sennelier paints from reviews to technical details. I was impressed with everything I read from how the paints are made to how exquisitely they layer. However, before investing in the larger paint sets of 24 or 48 colours, I wanted to try the paints out first. No one from.my art class had a set that I could look at. They mostly stick to winsor newton because it's easier to source the brand from a local shop here. So this little Sennelier set was the perfect palette to experiment with. The colours are rich but not too opaque thankfully. The paint flows beautifully and blends like a dream. As other reviewers have said on many other sites, a little really does go a long way. My washes have never looked so wonderful. I love these paints. But note that I have only ever used student grade watercolour so maybe all I'm noticing is the difference in quality. Others who have used artist grade paints would be better equipped to judge whether or not these really hold their own. The brush is a rigger and really quite good, but it's tiny and your hand will cramp within 5 minutes of using it. My hands are really small and they still hurt. The box itself is really compact, a little thicker than a stack of playing cards, but ten times lighter. You won't even notice the weight if you're holding it for a long time. The palette that the paints sit in is just a little better than flimsy and I feel like it could deteriorate give enough time in the humid climate that I live in. Overall, I am very happy I bought this and will definitely be buying one of the larger sets.

Very small and compact which is great. I used it for outdoors paintings and felt very comfortable using it. It's easy to travel with. The colors are vibrant and well pigmented. Some colors granulated (burnt umber especially). Small amount of color on brush goes a long way. Very good for glancing. The layers look beautiful and flat. The brush that comes in the box is useless. The holding area of the brush melted and stained the box a bit. There is no mixing palette or space to mix the colors. I mixed the colors on the inside of the lid. If you have been using very basic water colors and want to try some good quality ones I would highly recommend this mini set from sennelier.
