Hakko FX888DX-010BY - Digital Soldering Station with Rotary Encoder (Blue/Yellow Housing)

The STANDARD at guitar repair shops all over the world. An amazing piece of gear. The temp control and ability to set 1-5 presets is so great. Sturdy. Heats up in nothing flat. Better than anything Weber can put out IMHO.

I have used a lot of small and inexpensive soldering irons, and I decided to give this one a try when I was frustrated with difficulty making joints. I cannot overstate how much of a difference it makes to have a high-quality iron that reliably keeps its temperature and warms up quickly. I will never go back to the inferior ones I was using before. You get what you pay for. If you want to make joints quickly, reliably, and get it right the first time, get this.

This is a great soldering station. Very easy to change the tips and I also purchased a five pack of various other tip sizes to make soldering jobs easier. Very easy to adjust the temperature of the unit and I was amazed at how quickly it heats up to temperature compared to my older Weller soldering iron, which did not have an adjustable temp. Very nice that it also came with the tip cleaning station, which has a small sponge and water well along with brass material in the back to clean off the soldering tip as you work through a project. I found the iron itself was quite comfortable to hold and have used it to solder four different electronics projects thus far. I was hesitant to spend the money on this more advanced soldering station, but I am very happy that I did.

I’ve used a Weller soldering station for 30 years. It died and I replaced it with this Hakko. I love the Hakko! Powerful, great display, super-fast heat up times, well-made. Does what I need it to do!

You can tell from picking up the main unit that it's quality. Solid heavy. Big transformer means stable heat. Pleasure to use, especially pliable iron cable. Worth every penny. It gets hot as you want and it stays hot, which you need with soldering electric components. Connection got to be fast, lest heat damage component and shiny clean. This was worth every penny.

This is the soldering iron station I SHOULD have purchased 20 years ago. It heats up VERY quickly. The iron handles as well as anything I have used. The cabling is flexible so it is not fighting you to move the iron around. The dial face to set the temperature is super simple. The station and the soldering iron holder (with the sponge for water and metal mesh for cleaning the tip) are both nicely weighted and do not slip around on the workbench as easily as others I have used. The temperature gets very hot and makes applying solder easier and it flows nicely at this 900 degree temperature. And because it is a Hakko brand it is ubiquitous so it should be easy to get replacement parts and new tips for the iron. I have used a bunch of NOT Hakko irons and this one blows them away.

Great soldering iron. This beats my Weller soldering iron with it's adjustable temperature control. Good value as well.

Solid product and use it on multiple items that need repaired around the house. Used on pinball circuit boards and have the ability to switch out tips for smaller or larger soldering. Quickly heats up and the design of the storage station make it easy to hold when not in use. Functions very well and is very versatile for different projects with adjustable heat for pinning and re-pinning

Hakkko is known for quality and this soldering station is no exception. It is. a joy to use.This is my second unit as the first one is now close to ten years old and has thousands of hours on it. Not as precise as it used to be. The service from the vender was also excellent. It arrived weeks sooner than was quoted. I would not hesitate to purchase from this vendor again

Its 110v and in the uk its not usable without a 110v transformer so iv essentually wasted my money.
