Great Laptop Cooler with great Customer Support. Does what it is supposed to do and does it well.
What prompted this review was really more from my experience with KLIM Customer Support than the actual item. After receiving the cooler, I emailed them a request for sourcing an additional 12 Volt power supply (one came with the cooler but I wanted an extra to leave in a motor home) from Amazon, and within a few hours I received a very courteous reply with a specific model to order, which I did. This along with the very Customer Centric (and humorous) documentation material that came with the cooler gave me a warm fuzzy feeling that excellent support can be had when/if ever needed. KLIM as a company appears to have a great "personality" and I am guessing it is a fun place to work. This is my first laptop "cooler", so I have nothing else for comparison. I am using it for an HP Z Book Studio X360 G5 with an I7 8750H CPU and NVIDIA P1000 Quadro GPU. Air intake is from the bottom with exhaust at both ends. It's not the "latest and greatest" and certainly not a high-end gaming machine, but it meets my needs of business and some Photoshop Graphics work when traveling away from my desktop units. But it has had a tendency to run hot especially with graphics loads. WITHOUT the KLIM cooler, "normal" temps have been in the 75C to 80C range with occasional heat throttling temps of 90C+. WITH the cooler operating at 3,000 to 4,000 RPM, temps have been reduced to the 55C-60C range with occasional peaks under load of 65C...as reported by HWiNFO 64. Ambient room temperature is typically at about 24.4C / 76F. Before purchasing I had noticed some reviews complaining about excessive noise, no cooling effect, bad odor, only uses two of the four fans with USB laptop power, no air filtration, air intake at the bottom, claim of 16,000 RPM, and high price. Commenting on these reported issues based on my opinions and experience with this unit to date actually covers a lot of this review: 1. NOISE. I have noticed zero mechanical noise, but yes, you can hear air movement. At full speed 4,000 RPM of each of the four fans, air movement sound is noticeable...but certainly not objectionable, at least not to me. Unless you are using a true Thermo Electric / Peltier effect cooling system, the ONLY cooling benefits of this unit or any other similar fan-based unit, is from forcing additional ambient temp air into the laptop, resulting in additional air flowing over the laptop's heat exchange system. More air means more sound from the air movement...and this is likely more from the laptop's internal air flow path and exhaust vent size than anything the cooler itself causes. If I turn the cooler over and listen at the bottom, I can hear a bit of sound from the intake, but not much. All the cooler does is produce a positive high pressure air source to the intake of the laptop. The more positive pressure, the more air flow. I don't have an air flow meter, but the laptop's exhaust air volume is a LOT higher with the cooler than without. And right now as I write this review , CPU avg temp is 48C at 3,000 RPM. 2. NO COOLING EFFECT. I certainly don’t have the reviewer’s personal experience to draw from, but, from my experience, I don’t see how this could be. More air flow into and out of the laptop means more CPU cooling. Based on my comments in number 1, I have ask if there could be something wrong in the air flow path of the reviewer's laptop (intake restriction maybe???). Or maybe the laptop’s air intake didn’t mesh with the cooling unit’s discharge area? 3. BAD ODOR. No noticeable odor / smell at all. My wife concurs and she has an Olympic gold standard of smell. 4. ONLY USES TWO OF THE FOUR FANS WITH USB LAPTOP POWER. Yeah, the description might coulda been a Bit clearer on this...but regardless, I did see this in another review, and it doesn't make any difference to me. Running only two fans from USB power is a good compromise for battery life of the laptop. 5. NO AIR FILTRATION. My unit has an easily removable / washable filter over the bottom air intake. 6. AIR INTAKE AT THE BOTTOM. Yes, it is, but not sure why this is seen as a problem. It's not a problem for me. 7. CLAIM OF 16,000 RPM: Yeah, I guess this could be considered a bit misleading, but I consider it just "MARKETING MATH"... and there is clear description of four fans running at full speed of 4,000 RPM each. I put this in the same "Marketing Speak hyperbole" category as "unleash Cryogenic Cooling". I doubt if anyone who can operate a computer would believe this cooling unit could achieve minus 130F cryogenic temp or even match its description name of "TURBOFROST" (frost requiring temps close to the freezing point of water). 8. HIGH PRICE. Subjective...of course, I would have preferred to pay $50.00 or $25.00, and a lot of others on Amazon are cheaper. I looked at them and made the decision that the apparent quality of the KLIM unit justified the price. This and them having solid Customer Support. But darn it, it is now about $5.00 cheaper than a few days ago when I purchased it . Luck of the draw I suppose. Now a few minor nitpicks: 1. The USB and DC power ports are deeply recessed into the back, making them a bit challenging to insert...but not a significant problem. 2. RGB lighting. An annoying distraction to me but probably appeals to the vast majority of buyers. No problem since I can turn it off by depressing the RGB color button for a few seconds. But my preference would be a simple on/off slide switch to permenantly disable the lights. 3. ummmm...can't think of anything else. All in all, it appears well constructed and totally does what it is supposed to do...it works! I would definitely purchase it again…especially at $5.00 less cost😊. Of course, the real test will be its performance over time, but I feel it will meet that challenge!

High-Performance Cooling That Actually Works
"I’ve tried several cooling pads, but the KLIM Turbofrost is on a different level. The sealed foam design creates a pressurized seal that forces air through the laptop rather than just blowing it at the bottom. I saw a temperature drop of about 12°C during heavy gaming sessions, which stopped my thermal throttling entirely. It can get loud at the full 4000 RPM, but it’s a small price to pay for the performance boost. The build quality feels premium, and the extra USB ports are a great bonus for my setup!"

Best laptop cooler around
I had previously purchased a competitors brand and found this was the superior product. Primarily prefer this due to its ability to plug into my laptop using USB-C and function to near top capacity at I believe 3400 RPM whereas plugged in to wall outlet is like 3800-4000RPM. So 3400 is PLENTY strong airflow to keep my laptop cool. The other brand would not function unless plugged into wall outlet which was a big turnoff as it limits portability. This has been taken traveling and it easy to use on a laptop table. It makes noise but isn’t so loud you can’t hear anything. I’ve played without headphones and heard everything just fine. The RGB is fancy and bright with multiple functions. Love this enough to buy one for my girlfriend too

Pretty solid cooling pad.
It definitely reduces my CPU Temp by about 10 to 15 degrees Celsius. The reason why I docked a star though is that you advertise it can powered by USB or AC Adapter but you leave out the fact that it only runs on 2 fans, instead of all 4, when powered by USB. I will accept some of the blame as it was mentioned in the reviews and I missed, but it should have been mentioned in the description.

Best unit when I purchased!
We received this item and tested on the first day. This unit comes with 4 fans having a max speed of 4,000 rpms each while powered from the wall (this is where the fabled 16,000 rpm comment comes from). Max speed while powered from the computer is 3,300 RPMS - (seen on another video). The noise has a different tone at 4,000 RPMs and is a tolerable mid 50’s dBs. Stressing the quality of the fan noise as positive if you need to run at Max speed. At lower speeds this improves greatly becoming whisper quiet. 2500 rpms seems like an excellent sweet spot for average applications. We tested on a MSI laptop running a graphically intensive Call of Duty Game. While unsure of the exact title, I am sure my son’s laptop was hitting 201F according to the MSI temp system. When the speed of the cooler was applied at 4,000 rpms the temp was brought down from 201 to 168F. The combination of 4 fans and the sealing mat (held in place by magnets) work synergistically to raise inlet air pressure to your laptops cooling system drastically impacting air movement - positively. While this is a higher priced system, it will go a long ways preserving the integrity of laptops used on it. I found the overall build quality to be ‘Good’ to ‘Excellent’! Sealing mat - excellent 4 fans - excellent LED - good Speed control - excellent Dual power source - excellent and rare to unique Noise profile - Top Tier! - mid 50’s dB’s at 4000 rpms Angle bracket - ‘Ok’ - this is the one aspect I would suggest the manufacturer improve upon

is what it is
I bought this to pair with my alienware area 51m, never runs hot with this thing. fits perfectly and fans do get noisy when you ramp it up to 4000 rpm's the issue i have with this is the rgb. everytime i turn it on i had to reset to the color i wanted. sometimes i'd have to unplug it and replug it in to get all the lights to work and still there would be some that were displaying wrong color. ie. i had it set to blue but there would be a small section with red lights. at that point i just turned off rgb and used the fans.

Turbofrost
It serves its purpose quite well! I had to get a replacement due to a malfunction, but they sent a new unit quickly!

Lasted 3 months
Unsure if a fan came lose or a bearing but clearly only "works" at the 4k setting which maybe is at half of what is used to be. Only lasted 3 months so kinda disappointing at the price range. Sounds loud in the video but at 4k it use to be able to blow onto my face now its just loud and barely a breeze.
