I could press it in with my hand.
While I like the silver anodization, but the aluminum races were very loose in the head tube.... Like, the original Shimano steel ones for a threaded fork pressed out very firmly, so I know that the head tube is in spec. I'm just thinking that the aluminum alloy just didn't mill to spec. and was a smidge too small. I'm riding them until I actually feel play in the head tube. I bought a new suspension fork that was threadless and thought these would be fine. I'm thinking that they would be fine for cruising bikes, but I think a steel head set is where its at for front suspension.
