This is a solidly built bag that can withstand rough handling and will prove to be durable. Like all North Face bags it is a little on the heavier side on its own (personal opinion compared to similar designs by other brands). This bag was purchased to fulfill a requirement of a zippered tote that was convertible to a backpack in the event that the bag got too heavy. The problem with its design is, if you hold on to a single strap on the side which is convertible from tote to backpack, the bag will collapse on itself and spew the contents out. Especially any water bottle that might be in the bottle holders on the side. If you can train yourself to use the reinforced strap on your shoulder, while trying to unzip the bag and access its contents, this bag should serve you well. But from personal experience, this seems to be a steep learning curve. Especially in moments when you need to quickly access things from your bag. I got it for a decent price, so I will keep it and hopefully learn to use the right strap when opening and closing the bag while it dangles on my shoulder, but I’m definitely not buying this again.
