I used another product for years that happened to be quite a bit more expensive and decided to give this one a try. I am happy to say I am happy with the results and the value. Definitely helps with my digestion issues with zero side effects. If you have histamine issues give this one a try.

I have a lot of food allergies and anytime we go out to eat I have to make a sacrifice because there is never an item that doesn't contain at least one food that bothers me. I choose the least damaging option on the menu. Taking this enzyme has really helped eliminate reactions to the low to medium offenders. It won't save you from the foods that really trigger a response but it does help mitigate the reaction some. I'm allergic to wheat but NOT celiac and this enzyme helps greatly with small cross contamination exposures. I say this because since taking it I haven't had a cross contamination reaction(2 days of gastric distress and severe allergic reactions to just about everything). It is possible I haven't been cross contaminated in the past year but it's highly unlikely. I would not take this and just go eat wheat. It isn't a miracle worker but a helpful tool to mitigate risk.

Listen. If you have a serious allergic disease like I do, absolutely 100% do not play with this stuff. It may be safe for 99% of people, but people like us can't mess around with this part of our body. I have mast cell activation syndrome, and looked to this for hope. Every single day I fight off anaphylaxis with an array of antihistamines and steroids, and still can only eat meat, blueberries, cantaloupe, grapes, water and black coffee. If I stray from any of that, I have to use epi pens and get iv steroids. I took a single pill of this, and 30 minutes, my hands and face were burning with hives. My skin turned glaring rosy pink, (im Caucasian) and my heart began to pound kind of like when you get given a large dose of iv steroids. I was very dizzy and paniced, but I drove to the hospital and slept it off in the parking lot for 2 hours before feeling safe enough to drive home. After that I was pasty white for a couple hours, which is rare nowadays, and I ate a whole cantaloupe, watermelon, (which normally I'm a little allergic to) a ton of Blueberries, and beef, which the fat can trigger me sometimes, but it didn't. I was shocked! The stuff clearly works, but the way it entered my body was a nightmare! I'll never be taking this brand again, but DAO has a lot of promise if it can be purified into a hypoallergenic compound that can be utilized in a sensitive medical setting. If there is any risk of anaphylaxis for you, I seriously wouldn't take this stuff without literally being monitored in the hospital as it happens. As good as fruit is when you're essentially on a carnivore diet, Its not worth the risk of dying or pushing your disease a direction it never needed to go. Take your meds and vitamins, hit your macros, take care of your body, stand up for yourself before doctors, and say your prayers. Leave this risky business for people who are less sensitive to these things.

This product works as directed and gets rid of gas caused by the histamine in foods. It's small and very easy to swallow. That being said, it won't stop my allergic reactions like itchy, burning eyes so I still do take a Claritin and a Luteolin supplement to support digestion.

The quality is excellent. I was able to use it and the product performed better than expected when I need it the most.

I’ve suffered from mysterious itchy rashes for a number of years treated with prescriptions cortisone, but without anyone knowing the cause in spite of blood work and diet experimentation. Because I knew that histamines are always involved in such reactions I decided to try this product that offers the body’s natural histamine regulatory enzyme. And all I can say is that within in two days and for many months since the rashes have disappeared. Everyone’s physiology is unique and I’m not going to swear this will work for everyone, but it certainly seems to have worked for me. I hate the cost, but I hate my rashes worse.

I have histamine intolerance (the “threshold” kind). If I regularly stack high-histamine or triggering foods, I end up with a handful of unpleasant symptoms—brain fog, fatigue, constipation, acid reflux, and a salty/metallic taste in my mouth—until I have to go back to a reset diet. I bought HISTAsolv so I could occasionally enjoy higher-histamine meals (leftovers, tomato-based dishes, chocolate, coffee, alcohol) without paying for it afterward. Last Friday I had Thai food and beer at dinner, so I took one tablet, and it seemed to do the trick. I’m looking forward to using them again. That said, I’m not planning to take these regularly. The package says not to exceed three tablets per day, but I don’t want to become dependent on them. And while the label lists a maximum daily amount, several medical resources suggest these aren’t meant to be used as a daily “fix,” since they’re not a cure-all. In my experience, it’s still best to focus on gut healing by avoiding repeated stacking of high-histamine foods. For me, this product is more for the occasional cheat meal or dinner out with friends, when I don’t want to interrogate the menu while I’m still healing. The reason for 3 stars is the packaging/date issue. The insert states that one tablet initially has an activity of 36,000 histamine degrading units (HDU), and that by the end of the 2-year shelf life it will be a minimum of 23,000 HDU. I purchased mine on 2/8/26 and the expiration date is 04/2026 (LOT# 41552A). Since it’s only two months from expiration, the product I received likely isn’t at full potency. Also, if I don’t use them all by April, I’ll have to toss the rest and repurchase. There are 10 tablets per pack so I might use them in time, but I wasn’t planning on taking them daily. I haven't yet been able to really put them to the test since I've only taken one. I would have strongly preferred to receive a fresher product with maximum HDU to start with.
