KT-15-1UL Hartell Condensate Pump for air conditioners or gas furnaces 15' lift

I use a condensate pump in my condensing boiler where the condensate is warm (relatively hot) and very acidic. After having 2 little giant pumps fail (they are cheaper), i decided to get this one. It looks more sturdy and better built than little giant. Worked fine initially. The top is attached to reservoir with screws - I liked that a lot. BE CAREFUL not to overtighten those screws because the reservoir will get cracked at those points. The reservoir cracked on mine after several months of use and what is really bad in this model is that the pump is actually built in the bottom of the reservoir. You cannot just replace it as you can with little giant. My solution was to find a bigger pan (about the same height) and put the entire pump into the pan. it kind of works but I was disappointed about cracks...

Bought this pump based on other reviews. Great price. Fast shipping. Easy installation, but does not come with any hose for discharge. Expected longevity is very good,(years) based on other reviews. Other pumps had good warranties, but higher prices. So far, this pump is working as expected. Runs quiet. Pumps with plenty of pressure.I have a 5' vertical lift before hose is angled to a different direction, with a total of 10' of tubing overall. It has no problem with this whatsoever. Very happy with quality and purchase.

This was a direct replacement for another KT-15 pump that failed. The pump works ok, but I ended up having to move parts from the old pump to the new pump (a safety shutoff circuit/float). I'm sure that I ordered the wrong variation on the pump, but the frustrating aspect is that I knew what I was looking for. The product descriptions just were not adequate to pick what I needed. I suppose this product is usually purchased by HVAC pros. If you are a DIY, though, I recommend that you talk with a real sales person, to be sure you get what you want.

Purchased this to replace identical unit which is over 20 years old. Easy swap out. Comes with check valve so don't need to spend extra, When I tested it, it worked fine but after pump stopped heard repeated clicking for about 10-20 seconds with brief speed up just before it stopped. Clicking starts after pump stops. Water did drain properly. Called Plumbing Planet to ask if this was normal. Was told that others had complained about same sound though pump works fine. He suggested there is nothing wrong with the pump, but I "have a warranty if something does go wrong down the road". I am a little suspicious about this response but did not argue. I also agree with another reviewer who noted the two yellow wires in the picture are not present. Thought I didn't really want them, it is misleading.

Ordered through Patriot Supply, whose service was 5 star rated too. The unit replaces an existing pump, at least 12 yrs old, that had malfunctioned because it had never been cleaned. Well, live and learn. Old unit was installed in overhead central a/c system in home; realized malfunction when water started cascading down my hallway wall. I've taken apart the older unit, which was easy, and cleaned the "gunk" (years of fungal growth) out of it which allowed the internal propellor to operate once again. I've kept the older unit in my garage as a backup or for a new project that's bound to hit the "Honey-do" list eventually. :-)

Update July 02, 2017: Bought one unit, which didn't last the first year. I would have given five stars to the seller, who responded immediately and sent another unit which performed well for about a year. As of today, only days over two years of service, the third replacement unit has just now quit working! I don't get it - the first unit I owned of this same brand and part number worked for over ten years; the first unit I purchased here to replace it did not last even one year, and now the third replacement unit only lasted about two years... and I am tired of cleaning up the leaked water and the damage. The float / switch which gives power to the pump motor in these units repeatedly FAIL.

Had a serious problem with this item. The gasket on the bottom access plate was installed wrong and the pump leaked.

I also purchased this item as a replacement for one that is 10 years old. When I received the product it came quickly but when I open the box I noticed a return defective sheet inside. OMG- Plumbing Planet sent me a defective pump. I sent a email through Amazon and Plumbing Planet replied that they would ship me another pump out ASAP and I could keep the defective one for parts. I would purchase from plumbing planet again! Good Job!
