PRYSM 70-24157-03 Furnace Inducer Motor Compatible with Rheem, Replacement for 2638751, 00-81R02QJAA, 7121-11559, 117847-00, J238-150-15165, 7058-1406, J238-150-1533,

Bought this to replace a Jakel J236-150-1533 (Rheem 70-24175-01) installed in a Rheem RGPH-07EAMGR unit. Had been in service for about 20 years and was still running, but the motor mounting in the unit was loose and could not be easily disassembled for repair. This unit: Plug & play install, didn't have to modify a thing. Got it swapped in about 15 minutes. Working great. NOTE: the old Jakel unit was 1.71A, 1/20 HP, 3400 RPM. The new unit is 1.6A, 1/30 HP, 3000 RPM. The important part isn't the RPM or the HP. The important part is that the unit produce enough draft pressure to ensure safety. That safety check is built into the furnace by way of the furnace's pressure switch (which is separate from this inducer blower). On my furnace, if pressure is insufficient, that switch simply will not engage -- that's just the physics of it, and that's the whole point. If the switch does not engage: the furnace will not ignite, the main blower will not spin up, and you'll get a blink code on the logic board. If appropriate draft pressure is not supplied, the furnace is a doorstop. This inducer blower produces enough draft pressure to make the switch engage and pass the safety check. If that safety check is happy, I'm happy. I presume the lower power consumption, lower HP, and lower RPMs reflect this being a more efficient motor than the old Jakel, capable of doing the job with less effort. No complaints. Good find.

This was a perfect match for my Rheem Criterion II furnace. The old inducer motor was starting to whine, so after 15 years or so, it was finally giving it up. The assembly was a perfect match for the mounting screws. The screws were a PITA to get back in, but it was actually easier than getting to them to remove the old assembly, so, not the fault of the replacement. I had to move the ground wire, but no biggy. Excellent price!

This replaced my OEM unit and fits perfect and is really quiet. For the cost savings even if it only lasts 3 years you can buy it several times and still be ahead.

Ordered this fan to replace in my older Rheem furnace. The old one was making a whining noise like the bearing was ready to go out. Replacement time was less than an hour. All the existing holes lined up and the existing wiring, vent and vacuum hose plugged right in. The new one is loads quieter than the one I replaced. Saved LOTS over quote I got from a heating company to replace it.

Worked as planned. Easy install and saved a bundle this winter. The one replaced was 20+ years.

Only just installed it, so time will tell, but this part was an exact duplicate for the original (except with a cast metal casing rather than plastic, so it should last even longer). Took about 15 minutes to replace the old part, saved me $400+ over paying a HVAC company to replace it. Great deal. And, as far as I could tell, made in USA.

Works great. Just a hair longer than my original but much quieter. I hope it lasts a long time. Easy to install. Replaced Jakel Inc Murray 117847-00 J238-150-15165 120V 60Hz 1.71A 1/20hp 3400rpm My only issue was that I couldn't get same day delivery. Went almost 36 hours without heat.

Looks better made than original but will see how long that it lasts.
