Rule One R1 Whey Blend, Chocolate Fudge (EAN 196671004918) - 897g

I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard for over a year and was pretty happy with it, but I decided to try Rule One Whey after a friend recommended it. I’m really glad I did. The chocolate flavor is noticeably better. It’s richer, smoother, and the shake has a thicker texture that makes it feel more like a milk shake than just a protein supplement. I usually just mix it with water and ice to beat the Texas heat, and it still comes out creamy, which wasn’t always the case with ON. It is slightly sweeter than ON and has about 10 more calories per serving, but the protein content is the same. The scoop size is a bit bigger (keep that in mind if you’re tracking macros) but I think the taste and mouthfeel more than make up for that. Overall, this will probably become my new go-to protein as it is cheaper than ON with more or less the same results. If you’re looking for something that mixes well, tastes great, and gives you that thicker shake feel, I’d definitely recommend giving Rule One a try.

Good chocolate taste, no stomach upset, decent price. Will purchase again.

I got the chocolate flavor and enjoy it very much. I found it dissolves quickly without having to use a blender. Good with either water of milk.

It’s a decent protein, I guess? Not the worst I’ve tried, but definitely not the best. Taste wise it’s a bit over-sweetened. Doesn’t really taste like chocolate OR fudge. Not awful, but now what you’d expect. Mixability isn’t great. I currently use no less than 4 different proteins, and Rule1 mixes the worst. Clumps that hit you in the mouth or cling to the side of my electric shaker cup is not ideal. Wasted protein on the inside of my cup is never a good thing. No gastro issues from it, which is good. Would I purchase it again? Probably not. But there is worse out there in protein land.

Flavor is great and consistent. Calorie to protein ratio is also good.
