not cheap, but performance is good!
I think it could have been a bit cheaper. I can confirm I can run three 4k displays @60Hz. The USB4 ports support 4k/60hz. The Display Port does, too. I could not get the HDMI to do 60Hz, only got 30Hz, but maybe it was the cable Update: DOES not support HDMI 2.0, only 1.4. Therefore the seller description is NOT correct. Max refresh for a 4k screen is only 30Hz.

I have only had it a few days - So far, So Good
UM890 Pro (32Gb & 1 TB SSD). After a few days it seems solid and robust. My biggest issue is using Win 11 rather than Win 10 (old PC). I seem to have everything set up properly and am happy with the outcome. I was concerned about review of instability, etc on Amazon. However when I looked more closely, near all negative reviews were for different machines with other CPU's, GPU's. So I went into this with some trepidations, since I only have moderate tech experience. So far, so good.

OCULINK Requires NVME/m.2 Slot
I know it says it in the description but it bears repeating... I didn't realize how much I would miss not having that 2nd m.2 slot if I wanted to use Oculink. I spent a lot of time looking at this and the similary speced one from GMKtec. There was only a $1 difference between the two at the time of purchasing but I opted for the Minisforum simply because the Oculink port was on the back and the GMKtec was on the front. In the end, aesthetics won out... had GMKtec put the Oculink on the back and didn't use the bright green button, I would have went that route... when I added the GMKtec oculink AD-GP1 to this, I had to give up my m.2 slot. Luckily I had a SSK nvme enclosure handy so I put my 2nd drive in it. Not a big fan of having all of these cables on my desk but it works. Performance wise, this thing is a champ for its size. It easily handles everything I do in Photoshop and Lightroom. We have used Premiere on lower end mini PCs but I haven't tried to do any video editing on this yet but if it works on a 5700u, I'm sure the 8945hs will be even better.... and with the AD-GP1, rendering should be faster than relying on the 780m. Honestly, it is amazing how much performance we can get now out of such a small form factor. The first thing I did was open it up which I must mention how AWESOME Minisfourm made this... the top snaps on magnetically so no need to try and remove the rubber feet... you just pop the top off and you are in. You need to remove the fan cable to get easier access and I wish they made that cable a bit longer because it is a bit more challenging reconnecting the cable than removing the cable. I ordered 2tb WD Black SN850 to replace the cheap looking one that came with it and I had an old 970 Evo that I had in the 2nd slot until I got the Oculink card. But seriously, being able to pop the magnetic top off to access the 4 phillips screws was a nice touch. There are 2 sticks of Crucial ram in it but I don't recall the speed. I will probably upgrade that two 64gb later. I wish the bios/uefi had an option for XMP... if it does, I didn't see it so I am hoping it is using the full speed of the ram, especially when I upgrade it later. I replaced my old desktop which was an AMD 3800X with a Radeon 5700XT and this thing out performs it at a fraction of the cost. I am pretty sure I paid more for the chip/motherboard than I did for this mini PC and it is easily 10 times smaller. Had Minisforum opted to have the Oculink separate from the secondary m.2 and a tad longer fan cable, this would be 5 stars... losing the m.2 slot was kinda painful and trying to reattach the fan cable is a tad frustrating given how short it is. Other than that, the price is hard to beat and the performance is phenominal for its miniscule size.

Worked Well Until it Died
I purchased the MINISFORUM UM890 Pro on May 6, 2025. Mine has 64GB of RAM and I substituted the 1TB SSD for a 2TB Samsung SSD. I installed Win 11 Pro. I put the 1TB SSD in an external drive case. Up until yesterday I have been very happy with this mini PC. It has had an issue with mouse lockups occasionally. I am using this mini PC with MINISFORUM DEG1 EGPU with a GEFORCE RTX 5060Ti and a Corsair RM750e power supply. That power supply is overkill. It has never had enough load to start the fan. Yesterday in the middle of playing World of Tanks it died. Could not get it to restart. I checked the external power supply, and the voltage was correct (19 VDC) according to my multimeter. I contacted MINISFORUM Tech Support and they replied with troubleshooting steps. The unit is definitely dead. Waiting for a reply from tech support from my responses to their troubleshooting steps. MINISFORUM has a two-year warranty. I already ordered a replacement PC from Amazon that should arrive today. Anyone that has worked in the computer industry as long as I have knows that components can (and do) fail. That is why always backing up your data is critical.

BIOS updates? Not available & that means you're going no where.
You can't even find the BIOS updates for this anymore, and if you get one that's below BIOS 1.04, secure boot operating systems can't verify the the signature. Minisform needs to put the BIOS downloads back on their US product website or else everyone who buys this is screwed.

Great value and performance
Love these boxes. Had a memory issue of the 15 we ordered and support was able to get me a new module and we are back!

I had an issue with my Minisforum Elitemini UM890 Pro a few months after purchase. Windows 11 would no longer boot, and the SSD was not being detected. Minisforum's support team, and in particular Jessie, handled the situation with outstanding professionalism and responsiveness. They guided me step-by-step through troubleshooting, promptly provided a new OS key, and even arranged for a full reimbursement for a replacement SSD I purchased locally to minimize downtime. Communication was always fast, clear, and courteous, and it was evident they were committed to making sure I was satisfied. As an IT professional, I deal with many hardware vendors, and I can honestly say this was some of the best customer service I have experienced. Minisforum did everything possible to rectify the issue, and I will not hesitate to order from them again in the future. Highly recommended!

bought two of these, about maximum 1 1/2 month of use. Last night 20-08-2025 one just shut down went blank. I tried changing plug (switching between the other one that worked) nothing tried changing wall outlets nothing. I am going to unfortunately rate this a 2star unless the company reaches out to me and helps me out with this. I read online that theres a PSU problem with early versions will wait for warranty RMA to settle until then im sad to say Ill keep the 2star. I loved these machines did exactly what I wanted until last night.

Awesome when it works. When it fails good luck with support. Do not buy Minisforum products if you have a critical use case. They don't care if you are down.
