The only "smart" solar lights on the market
The media could not be loaded. One of the only solar powered lights on the market which can be controlled via app with timings, brightness etc.I have around 26 of these lights around the garden and driveway. The beauty is I can group them into separate groups as they are for different purposes in each area. For example, with the driveway, I have them set up to turn on only when motion is detected. The fantastic feature with this product is that when 1 of the lights is triggered within the driveway group, all the driveway lights are triggered on at the same time. This is fantastic technology, especially for solar powered lights. Now for the garden lights, which I use for landscape lighting, I have grouped them so that they turn on from dusk till dawn on minimum brightness, yet have also switched on the motion detection feature, so that when 1 of them detects motion, they all come on full brightness for a specified amount of time. The increase in brightness is flawless, with the lights all going full brightness in perfect sync, making these lights look very premium indeed. (see video of the path lights and how they light up in sync when I walk past 1 of them)Now for the solar aspect, on full charge, these will run for around 8 hours on minimum brightness, and 3-4 hours on full brightness. Since installing them, we have had no sun and full cloudy days, so by morning, all the always on lights are out of power. Even on full cloudy days (in November), they are to charging 10-30% which gives about 30 mins to 3 hours (some are able to charge more than others due to being positioned more openly to the light). I would imagine even on winter days with decent sunshine, they would charge a good amount and easily to full in summer months.Overall, I am yet to see any outdoor lights, (wired or solar) that have the smart customisation of these and the seamless functionality. They just work.I also have other X-Sense devices such as the smart smoke alarms and home security, which is why I bought these lights as was already impressed with the value for money of those.

Not bad
The spotlight has a sleek, modern design, 2-in-1 design is a nice feature, allowing you to either stake it into the ground or mount it on a wall, depending on where you want to place it. As with most solar-powered lights, performance may vary depending on the amount of sunlight they receive. On cloudy or rainy days, the lights may not last as long throughout the night. But under ideal conditions, the spotlight provides consistent illumination for several hours after dark. The need for the SBS50 base station to access smart features may be a downside for users who aren’t already invested in this ecosystem.

Very impressed, solar keeps them charged even when not in full sun
I have 6 of these lights along my driveway, when grouped via the easy-to-use app, if one detects movement they all light up. You can configure the alert to your phone and the base station chime if required. They also use the same base station as the X-Sense home security kits. The solar panel keeps them charged even in winter and after 2.5 weeks I have not needed to charge any of them via USB.

Great lights but unnecessarily expensive to add extra lights to system
The headline says it all. These are very good lights, but…………………..They come well packaged and after opening all the wrapping they appear well made, unlike some of the very cheap solar lights I have seen recently. You get the two lights and also a base station which you link to your home WiFi. After linking the basestation to you home WiFi you then link the lights to the base station. It sounds a faff but it is done in just a few minutes and the app that you need works well on an iPhone 15. And its far better to have this system than have a flimsy toy like remote control that so many similar solar security lights come with nowadays. The app allows you loads of options but I suspect most people will use it once or twice only to set up the lights brightness, schedule and motion activation.Having tested the lights over the past two evenings I can confirm that the motion activation works and the light emitted can, if needed, be very bright indeed. As another reviewer has also pointed out. If I wanted to extend my system by buying extra lights then it seems I have to buy another set including the base station at a cost of £69.99. But I do not want an extra base station!!So if I wanted to add another 4 lights to the system I have to buy an extra 2 base stations that are of no use to me. A lot of unnecessary expense. The inability to buy extra lights, just on their own, is a major negative to buying these lights in the first place and will put off a number of prospective buyers. It makes expanding the system, unnecessarily, very expensive. So based on solely on this issue I can only really give these lights 3 stars.
