Is this the real stuff or is it a knock off?

I’ve long been under the impression that cologne I purchase online, or from a discount fragrance shop, never smell quite as good or last quite as long as the ones I buy from say Macys, or another reputable retailer (but it’s always 20% more expensive in store). Recently I was researching why, and found that cologne and perfume lose their staying power with time, and also other factors like temperature and sunlight. Pretty much all the Prada cologne I find online says “Made in Spain” but Prada stopped making it in Spain in 2019 and now make it in France. I just bought a bottle from Macys that says “Made in France” on the bottom. So if you buy one off Amazon, and see “Made in Spain” on the bottle - it’s at least 2 years old and might not be as good as a brand new bottle.
