This actually works quite well, and is very sensitive. In fact, it is so sensitive that if you soak a small cloth with isopropyl rubbing alcohol within 3 feet of this device it will start shouting loud warnings at you. We've had this marvelous little device plugged in next to our kitchen stove for well over a year now and I'm totally sold on it. It's an excellent investment for your safety and well-being.

I bought this on a whim last year and had it plugged in near my furnace, dryer and water heater in the basement. Woke to it alarming this weekend! I shut of gas to the house and called the utility. Issue discovered. Item seems cheap, but it worked for me and im glad i had it. The alarm goes off at 5% LEL, which is much more sensitive than a lot of alarms. I appreciate that it gives a readout of the percentage as well. I have a Kiddie brand alarm that is just a "go / no go" alarm at 25%... I want to know sooner than that!

Lysol spray 6 feet away will trigger an alarm. Probably the same for other volitiles. Don't panic.

Less than 8 months and it’s stopped working. Had issues continuously prior where it would lose power and I would need to adjust where it was plugged in at. Now that doesn’t work either. Not a good product.
