Kind of tedious but also fun. Be sure to sand smooth and wax the gear bearings BEFORE you put it together. Some of the many struts that connect the outer wheel to the hub had to be glued with a tiny drop of glue to keep them from falling out, but other than that no surprises. Would I recommend it for people who like to put models together - yes.

This is an awesome gift. My friend loved putting it together and when it played she was thrilled. Will purchase more

I bought two for my grad son and daughter . I give this to my grandson . While I was there . So I want to return the second one which I bought it but did not give it to her ,not open unused . Amazon wash their hand reach out to maker / supplier no response at all .so if you kid is older than 14+ very patient and want to make may be hecan .but I would never by this from this seller again . Sorry but has to say this , this is my experience .

This was a blast building you might need a little glue because some of the spines on the wheel don’t fit thigh

Disclaimer - I don't plan on putting this together for a while, so this is my initial impressions of the general quality of the materials and instructions. I will update this review if, upon assembly, I gain any new insights. The wood panels are of nice quality (I can't say that about all wooden puzzles), and the cuts are clean. As I was inspecting the panels several small pieces fell out (looks like spacer pieces not part of the puzzle) which makes me confident part separation should be easy enough. The instructions are clear enough and warn not to take a part out until it is needed, otherwise it could be difficult to identify the correct piece. I tested the music box and at first I only got a few seconds of run time. Springs have a way of telling me "this far and no further" so I don't break them. After a couple of deep breaths, I went beyond what felt safe and eventually got to a run time of around a minute. The tune was Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Overall, this would make a great gift. The material quality is really poor, some parts were broken (not my first time with puzzles like this) the parts are not organized in boards by any order, the result is not working because parts are not tight to their location
