As someone with fine curly hair this does an amazing job at straightening my hair and minimizing damage. Review: Salon-Perfect Hair at Home: Why the Dyson Airstrait is Worth Every Penny! - The Dyson Airstrait is an absolute game-changer for anyone who washes their hair daily! As a woman in her 40s, I’ve found it brings my hair back to the silky, shiny look I thought only women in their 20s could have. It's honestly like a professional blowout at home—without the hefty price tag of constant salon visits! Speaking of salons, I love that perfect blowout you get on special occasions, but I never go as washing my hair often wastes the visit. With the Airstrait, I can get that fresh-out-of-the-salon look daily! Yes, it’s $500 on desertcart right now (down from $600!), but think about this: if a salon visit costs around $50, it pays for itself after just 10 uses. Now, a little heads-up—this tool is not ideal for very curly hair or hair shorter than chin length, as the depth of the barrel won't smooth the roots. But if your hair is wavy or frizzy and at least chin-length, you're in for a treat! For the best results, I recommend pre-treating your hair with a serum to protect it from heat, and adding a few drops of oil at the ends after styling. My naturally wavy hair loves to frizz, and despite getting Japanese straightening treatments every five months, I still struggle with frizz. But with the Airstrait, it’s super easy! Here’s my routine: I first apply Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny serum, then section my hair into six parts. PRO TIP: although it sounds counterintuitive, run the Airstrait SLOWLY over SMALL sections for faster, smoother results. I only need two passes before locking in the style with the cool setting. Finish with a drop of Moroccan oil at the ends, and voila—smooth, sleek hair that lasts! If you’ve got frizz-prone, wavy hair and want salon-quality results at home, the Airstrait is worth every penny!

Loved this for my fine hair and less heat damage!
I have fine, bleach processed hair so I'm always looking for ways to be better with my hair. With this tool I'm not using heat twice on my hair. It blow dries and straightens my hair at the same time. You can use this as a blow dryer without straightening if you want which is a nice option. It gives my hair a nice sleek straight look not to mention the shine quality it adds. With fine hair I have to be careful with blow dyers because they can cause breakage due to the erratic motion. This however guides the hair and keeps it from getting tangled and breaking. I'm a lefty so it took a few tries to make sure I had it positioned right. It is a tad heavy and takes getting used to holding it because it's bulkier than a normal straightener. I also know this piece is on the higher side and not everyone can justify. For me, it's been a great addition and I can tell a difference in my hair for sure. If you have finer hair or your trying to reverse some damage to your hair I would recommend this tool!

After a month it wouldn’t turn on anymore. I called Dyson because Dyson says the product has a 2 year warranty and they asked me to ship back so I shipped it to Dyson. After Dyson received the product Dyson said I would receive a new Dyson and everything would be the same but when I received the product it was a different color and didn’t come with the travel box. I called Dyson and I was told to ship it back and I’d get a full refund so I did and I was told by Dyson I’d receive my refund in two weeks. It’s going on 4 weeks and I’m being told I cannot get a refund. It’s been 6 months of bull since I got this product. Till this day I haven’t got a refund

Works better in the long run for me
Hands down the best hair tool I own! Having curly hair the oil never makes it down to the tips so straightening it half the time with a method that causes minimal to no heat damage seems like it’s actually making my hair more lustrous ✨

Silky Smooth Hair! (and STRAIGHT STRAIGHT)
My husband surprised me with the Dyson Airstrait for Christmas. It’s something I’ve wanted to try for over a year but I’d never take the plunge to get one. Surprise… I got the chance! I tried it last night for the first time andddd…. I think I’m gonna love it! There’s a little bit of a learning curve since it blows air at the same time it straightens but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. •MY HAIR TYPE: I have naturally curly hair. It is fine in texture but there is TONS of it. Holds moisture and typically takes forever to air or blow dry. •PROS: Did an amazing job at straightening. With a traditional flat iron sometimes I will have areas that aren’t totally straight where my hair meets my head. I didn’t have any of that with this. It was straight all the way to the root. Took about 2 passes on each piece I did. When I was done my hair felt silky smooth and healthy whereas with a traditional flat iron, sometimes it feels dry and straw like. I feel like this tool will DEFINITELY save me time once I’ve used it another couple of times and have the technique down pat. •CONS: When I straighten my hair with a traditional flat iron I kind of curl my hair around when I get to the bottom of the strand (kind of like beachy waves) bc I don’t like my hair board straight, this won’t do that bc of the airflow output & the fact that the outer part of the unit doesn’t get hot. This has your hair STRAIGHT STRAIGHT when you are done. I had to use the curling iron and briefly run over a few places so it wasn’t so straight. For people that like their hair perfectly straight, it would be a non-issue. I saw a couple of reviews about people saying it was heavy to use after a while but I never experienced a problem with that or felt like it wasn’t manageable. I’m excited to see how the health of my hair improves over time. Overall, I’d definitely recommend!

This machine works properly and does its job. Less hairfall now compared to when i was using a regular hair dryer and iron separately. My only issue is i cannot register it at Dyson website. They cannot detect the Serial Number which i worried when suddenly the machine will not work.
