My wife is a school teacher who's on her feet much of the day. Sadly she suffers from plantar fasciitis, so a nice foot massager would make the perfect Christmas gift (and earn the husband some badly needed honey points). Through my extensive research I came across this Tisscare foot massager. My biggest concern was durability... I didn't want an el cheapo hunk a junk made in West Taiwan. I wanted something that would help my wife's feet and not wear out within a month. To my surprise this massager is very solid (and somewhat heavy), though I wouldn't consider it portable enough to grab and take somewhere on a daily basis (Ours is parked by the couch). My wife absolutely loves it and uses it every night before she goes to bed. I don't know yet if it can reverse plantar fasciitis, but certainly my wife gets great relief from daily use; sometimes using it multiple times a day. The first time I tried it I couldn't pull my feet out... this because my feet were so happy they grew roots into the massager. My feet were yelling at me "Why haven't you ever done this for us?!" Both of my daughters and son sunk their feet in and each were taken back by the wonderfulness of the new machine. Yes, the Tisscare foot massager is a hit in our family. The massager gets frequent daily use by everyone in our house. So far it's been a month and its still going strong; so my initial concerns about durability are gone. The adjustable 'stand-bar' works well to set the machine at various angles depending on your sitting position. I think this is a good feature and the bar itself seems fairly solid. Using it on calves seems a little awkward though. The controls are very basic and easy to understand. The heat might be a little weak, but works well enough to satisfy your feet. The remote works, but it's probably not really necessary. I don't think anyone actually uses the remote at our house. So the husband earned his badly needed honey points and the wife is very happy with her foot massager... along with the rest of the family (including the husband). This was a good purchase.

This is the one to get! The settings are highly adjustable depending on your preferences. And having the heating option is great to add to the kneading, rolling and squeezing options. It allows for gentle kneading and squeezing for more tender feet. Or it can give a very strong massage with under-foot pressure point rollers and strong squeezing and kneading on the sides. On the strongest settings, which I prefer, I have found it takes a little getting used to at first since I have some neuropathy but afterwords my feet feel great. The unit is just big and heavy duty enough to handle all machinery needed to do all it can do but not too big to be a nuisance. And the remote is handy to not have to bend over, just as long as it's pointed directly at the control panel. I have had both cheaper and more expensive units that have broken down in no time but after six months of regular use, this unit is still going strong. This is worth every penny I spent on it and my feet are better and happier for it.

This is a nice way to get a foot rub when you are alone without using your hands. The compression is nice but once it starts you better be sure you're for is exactly where you want it because it is very hard to move later. I also wish it had a mode that allowed me to choose just the heel of my foot to be rubbed. The heat mode is nice, not to hot but you notice it. The machine is not overly loud but you will hear it. Overall I would recommend this as a nice way to get in a foot rub while watching TV or reading.
