Great lights, a little pricey though

With so many mixed reviews, I was hesitant to purchase these lights, but after installing them a week ago, I’m glad I did. Mounting the brackets into brick was straightforward - just a bit time-consuming - and each light fit perfectly once the brackets were in place. I secured the cables to the brick using heavy-duty adhesive cable clips I’ve used before, and they worked just as well this time. Connecting the lights to my Wi-Fi through the app was incredibly easy. I already had the Govee app and an account because I own other products, but you will need an account to unlock the full features. In my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it. Although it hasn’t rained yet, the lights appear to be well-sealed, and I placed the on/off switch and electrical plug inside waterproof boxes for extra protection. The brightness is impressive - almost shockingly so at 100% on the white setting. I actually lowered mine to 50%, and it still provides more than enough illumination. It’s like daylight on the side of my house, which is a huge improvement from the pitch-black darkness before. The colored and scene modes are a bit less intense, but still look great. Overall, I love how these lights add a decorative wash to my home while delivering the much-needed brightness for my yard. They’ve exceeded my expectations so far.

Like the lights and easy to use and change via Alexa. If you are handy, easy to shorten/remove extra wire between lights for a cleaner look, but make sure to get the polarity correct. If mounting on beveled siding, use a piece of inverted siding to level the lights and have them point down properly otherwise you end up with the lights shining out and not washing the wall properly.

I wish I had bought these a long time ago. They are perfect for my setup. Extremely easy to connect to the app and to Alexa.

Great OUTDOOR lights. Would be nice if the controller box that is connected to the lights was good for OUTDOOR use. If it rains plan on your lights failing. If you buy these plan on having to contact Govee support to get a replacement kit because the dont sell the controller box separately. This will be the second time in 3 months that I will need a replacement for an OUTDOOR product that has failed because of rain. Which last time I looked it only rains OUTDOORS. Would be nice if an OUTDOOR product would be able to withstand OUTDOOR elements. I will not buy or recommend any Govee products to anyone.

I will say for being outside for almost a year I am quite impressed on how these lights have held up. Build quality seems to hold up, the light output and color rendition is right on and the fact that I can see these on my home assistant instance makes these worth it. The app took some getting used to but once I figured out how it works I was able to achieve my goal. The only limitation is the automations portions, needs a little bit more work on conditional statements and the ability to add those statements to conditions. For example have the lights run this scene at a set time but when motion is detected by their motion sensor run this scene and when motion expires say after 5 min run scene set originally. But that’s the app not this product which is why I give the product 5 stars. Had an issue with the power adapter going bad but Govee support took care of it quite fast. I am impressed. Will buy more! Picture is with lights at 5% brightness, providing a nice ambient glow. Had fun with them during the holidays.
