I really wanted these to work for me, because the concept is excellent. The sound quality is solid, the Bluetooth connection is reliable, and they feel well built overall. As hearing protection with added functionality, they clearly do what they’re designed to do. For my situation, though, they weren’t very tradesman friendly since I need to wear a hardhat regularly. The fit just didn’t play well with that setup, which made them impractical for my day-to-day work, even though everything else about them was well executed. That said, I can still see these being a great option for someone who doesn’t need to wear a hardhat or who’s using them in a different environment. They’re thoughtfully designed and worked as intended, just not the right fit for how I need to use them.

I purchased these to replace my earbuds i lost. I opted for the solar charging one hoping to get longer battery life. Turns out the solar is really good. I have never charged these, not once! When working in the hay field even with a cover on the tractor it is consistently 10% higher charge at the end of the day than i started with. They came at 50% charge and after about 5 days they were at 100% and to this day over a year later i still use them constantly and have never charged them with anything but solar. Highly recomend. Given they are for hearing protection they do not go as loud of volume as id normally listen at but i get, also after so many hours at .ax volume they will shut off for hearing safety, you simply power back on and your good to go for another few hours. They are also pretty comfortable and not very heavy.

Battery life is great. I wear it for a couple of hours to do yard work each weekend and with the solar recharging I don’t think it’s gone below 100%! Music sound is okay, but wasn’t expecting much. Controls work well even with gloves. Gel pads are comfortable but ears get sweaty. The band seems sturdy but the top of it is not very comfortable. After a couple hours it starts to dig into the top of my head.

The solar charging capability is a truly remarkable feature and represents a significant advantage. Over the course of nearly a month with daily use exceeding eight hours (in both sunny and overcast conditions), the battery level has consistently remained at 100%. The inclusion of a 40-hour reserve battery provides reassurance for indoor use, and the option to charge via cable offers additional flexibility. Regarding the volume level, it appears that some users might have overlooked a specific procedure detailed in the product manual for adjusting the hearing protection features. While this adjustment exists, it is generally recommended to maintain the default settings for optimal hearing safety. In terms of comfort, the factory-installed foam ear pads may not be ideal for extended wear for all individuals. Personal experience suggests that the headband can create a pressure point, particularly in the center of the head. Additionally, the initial tightness of the earmuffs and the depth of the earcups might lead to discomfort around the jaw muscles and ears after approximately one hour of continuous use. However, a significant improvement in comfort and fit was achieved by replacing the original ear pads with the 3M gel ear pads, which were purchased separately. These thicker pads offer more internal space for the ears, enhance the seal for improved high-frequency noise protection, and contribute to a noticeably more comfortable experience overall. Prior to this modification, achieving a proper seal was challenging, potentially compromising the intended hearing protection. The audio quality is adequate for spoken-word content such as podcasts and audiobooks. While discerning music enthusiasts might find it less than optimal, this nuance may be less apparent in noisy work environments. Personally, the clarity is sufficient for understanding audio played at an accelerated speed, even while operating loud machinery like a chainsaw. The Bluetooth connection, utilizing the latest 5.3 protocol, has proven to be stable and reliably connects to mobile devices without issue. Finally, the overall build quality appears robust and durable, further supported by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.

If you've used the older style of WorkTunes with the circular button to control everything, there are some similarities. The noise reduction and hearing protection are the same. The replaceable ear cushions are the same. The sound quality is similar. The battery life is better. Instead of needing to plug them in after about a day and a half, I could use them for a few days. Some things are worse. They've added noisy, distracting, low quality sidetone when you're talking through the headset. The headband can't be extended as far from the earpieces, which can lead to pain as the headband presses on the top of your head. The worst thing is that, after several hours of listening, the headphones will suddenly lose power without properly disconnecting from the audio device. This means that, instead of simply being able to turn the headphones back on and have them automatically reconnect, you have to go to the audio device, unlock it, go to the Bluetooth device list, disconnect the headphones to inform it that the connection isn't there anymore, and reconnect the headphones. When this happens, the battery level is fine, because you can immediately reconnect them and listen for several more hours until they die again. Then, you can do that again, and again. I returned the headphones because of that and got a replacement pair. The replacement pair also loses power after several hours of listening.
