This is a fabulous drop-foot brace. The metal hook that attaches to your first lace is firm and secure. You do not need to attach a permanent bracket - which are needed by braces which use a velcro loop to attach to the first lace. I love that you can use one brace on multiple shoes. This makes it highly cost effective - you only have to buy one. The straps around your ankle are soft and comfortable for all day use. This brace is highly effective. Highly recommended.

I came down with stupid horrible drop foot about twenty-one years now, after an accident where I broke my back. At first I went with the huge, thick, intrusive, and uncomfortable, wait, and embarrassing AFO that my doctor wanted me to use. I had to pick out ONE pair of tennis shoes, and one had to be a half a foot longer than the other one. It limited me to a single pair of shoes all year round. I hated wearing that thing, riding up my leg. So for a long, painful while, I went with nothing at all. I just limped my way around from accidental fall to accidental trip, until I had fallen on my right knee so much, that I sure my meniscus. I had to get another surgery! When that fiasco was over, I decided I’d better use a cane, which was embarrassing to me because I was only thirty years old. Finally, Amazon came around and introduced me to these smaller, less visible options. I decided to try one. But the one I tried was not lifting my toes enough and I’d still trip over my toes all the time. I just figured my drip foot was too bad for one of those chinchy cloth ones. UNTIL I TRIED THIS PARTICULAR STYLE OF BRACE. I had, quite to my surprise, found thee brace for me! This thing held my toes up enough to actually stop tripping. This brace has LITERALLY STOPPED ME FROM DOZENS OF FALLS! Not only does it somehow lift me toes up enough to stop my tripping, but I was no longer forced to pick one TENNIS-SHOE to wear my brace with. Well, you do have to he have a strong strap to put it on with. But I find that any tennis-shoes laces, or sandals with straps can usually fit within the mechanism that attaches them. Seriously, these have changed my life. My falls are attributed to a for meniscus and a full knee replacement, and now, now they’ve almost all but stopped. (Occasionally crazy trip) Don’t sell yourself short. Try it.

Works as it supposed to. Will stabilize your foot to a more neutral position to eliminate "foot drop", but not much more than a neutral position. A couple of comments: 1) In order for the device to work it, your shoelaces need to be tight. The device works by pulling on your shoes laces (forefoot area) up towards your shin. 2) It won't be as effective with shoes that have laces high up on the foot, like mens dress shoes. 3) To reduce the stretch on the last lace loop, I thread the hooking device under the laces above the lowest loop, then hooked over the lowest loop and tightened. This reduced the stretch on the lowest loop and didn't require me to tighten the device as much. 4) The ankle portion needs to be snug, but if you over tighten, it becomes uncomfortable. It should be snug enough to not easily move, but not so tight that you cause a skin imprint area after a few minutes. 5) A found the most effective way was to put on the device, push on the ball of my foot toward my shin, then tighten the device to achieve the best "neutral" position. Overall a good, inexpensive device that will improve your faotdrop. Recommend.

I have a severe drop foot on my right foot and have struggled for years trying to find a brace that is comfortable. I’ve tried a variety of AFO’s from expensive custom braces as well as a variety of different style over the counter braces all which I found to be very uncomfortable after a few hours of use. I’ve been desperate to find a comfortable solution since I’m working in a warehouse and walking an average of 10 miles per shift. This brace has been the best one I’ve tried yet! I’ve been wearing it for up to 10 hours on a shift and it’s holding up great and is very comfortable to wear. I did add a simple zip tie to my shoe so the brace isn’t pulling on the shoelace itself and it helped really keep everything secure. It works well with all my shoes from boots to tennis shoes. The price is extremely affordable and I couldn’t be happier with the product. I even ordered a backup just in case anything ever happens to it I can have an extra on hand. I was even surprised they offer a lifetime warranty on the product and will replace it free if it breaks or has any issues! I personally love the simplicity and comfort of the brace and would recommend anyone suffering with a foot drop to give it a try.

Works great, keeps the toe up to reduce dragging it, which ca cause stumbles… my PT recommended it

Easy to put on and effective in helping support my drop foot!

This Johngood drop foot brace with knob adjust is amazing. My foot drop is to my right foot and I would say is moderate. I am able to walk. Although my gait initially was wobbly, it is now steady. This Johngood brace is fully functional. I don’t know what other people are saying on these reviews but I find it very sturdy. I’ve had it for a month and a half and have had no issues whatsoever. I do lift the wheel and loosen the tension when I’m driving my car and in the home when I’m exercising my foot. I can’t see that the wires will break anytime soon. I initially tried on six different foot drop braces, and chose this one. I highly recommend it.

Kudos to the designers of this product. I first tried a similar design that used a velcro strap that connected the ankle piece to the shoelace. Found that that there was so much stretching in all the pieces involved (including the shoelace) that I was forever re-adjusting the velcro strap, and this was cumbersome as well as shoe dependent. My second purchase with the metal wires and easy- twist adjustment knob solved the previous problems. There is still some stretch, but it is much less, and it literally takes me 2 seconds to twist the adjustment wheel to re-tighten . I have used this newer product for over two months and am so happy with it.

Después de sopesar varias opciones, me decidí por este modelo y la verdad es que no puedo estar más que satisfecho, pues ha sido un gran acierto. Es muy fácil de poner y quitar, llevo un mes usándolo y la mejoría es notable. Su sistema de gancho hace que pueda usarse con zapatos destapados (se agradece en verano) mediante sujeción de velcro y el cable de ajuste resulta más fiable que otras opciones, pues se puede tensar a gusto. Cómodo y eficaz. MUY RECOMENDABLE
