Lots of power, silent noise floor for IEMs, runs cool. Matching DACs is a challenge
I just bought one and currently have 5-6 amplifiers to compare it to. It's got lots of power, even the HE6se sounded good, but no headroom to eq it with a big preamp reduction (I have an A70Pro to do that). Channel balance on this unit measured really good (within .2db up to 20% volume before it locks even together). It just sounds great, not sterile or warm. It's neutral but very natural in the presentation and things just sound realistic. Attack and decay of notes is right on the money. The switches on the back aren't so bad, those hardly ever get used, and high/low gain is at the top so easy to reach. There's a matching DAC for it, but so many choices out there these days. The SMSL DL100 and SMSL CO100 fits best if you want to stack, also tried the DO100Pro which has a much easier to read display. It fit on the Topping E50 as well. The Head-fi reviews are really accurate, it competes with much more expensive headphone amplifiers. This also can handle a 5 volt DAC without clipping. I get audio equipment in all the time and just tried it with the Topping D70 Pro Sabre that arrived in 5 volt mode and no problems. It feels really sturdy and has some weight to it, volume wheel is really smooth and easy to control. If the form factor fits your DAC and desktop, go for it. In the $200 price range there's the HO150x and L50 which are worthy contenders also. Those don't have 4.4mm like this does though, and the L50 uses RCA 1/4" instead of XLR which I prefer for durability. I switched to all star quad design XLR cables in the shop, so for a daily driver I'd get this one for the connectivity. I tested with 16 ohm 126db sensitivity IEMs and no hiss on recordings like piano solos so it's good for IEMs in low gain mode. If you want the best matching DAC for it, I think the SMSL M300SE has the same dimensions and they should stack really well, or look good side by side.

Powerful, Clean, Sublime
This FX-Audio R07 Plus headphone amplifier is a beast (in all the best ways). It is a great looking and compact desktop headphone amplifier, and considerably more substantial than most of the DAC/Amp combinations that I’m familiar with (it’s about three times as big and five times as heavy as my ifi iDSD Signature). It provides you with a variety of options for set up - it can take both RCA and XLR inputs, with toggles on the back panel to select whether the source is balanced or not, gain and RCA impedance. On the very cleanly designed front panel, you just have your volume knob, XLR and 4mm balanced jacks, a standard phono plug jack, and handy little indicators on the front to show the source/impedance/gain settings. The output from this amp is very clean, and very powerful. There is no background noise to speak of (I’ve tried and failed to hear any hiss whatsoever). When you’ve got it hooked up to your audio source, you’ll be in for a treat - this amp will serve up details you’ve never noticed, at pretty much any volume you can handle. No distortion - this will likely blow out your headphones before it breaks a sweat. Echoing other reviewers, start with the volume all the way down and work your way up to whatever’s comfortable. Given the power this unit can pump out, it stays impressively cool. Just give it a nice space on your desk where it can breathe, and it will make your favorite headphones or IEMs absolutely shine. Add a good DAC to the mix, and you’ll be in for a whole new world of audio bliss.

It's really good
First off, if you are used to desktop sized headphone amps, this is bigger and heavier than most of those. Has full sized XLR outputs along with 1/4 inch and 4.4 balanced. I have a set of Abyss 1266s which soak up power like a very dry sponge soaks up water. This amp, without using a balanced cable will get those headphones loud enough to give me pause. I try to listen at reasonable volumes so that I can enjoy my music and headphones for years, not days. With a balanced 4.4 cable the amp gets the Abyss Diana Phi headphones to hurtful volumes. The power is clean and the noise floor of the amp is far below that which I can hear. I used it with a JDS Labs Atom 3 DAC. I like it and it works great for me. Just make sure if you switch headphones you turn the volume all the way down and put the output on the back of the unit to low.

Wow
This is not your parents Cmoy amplifier. This is somewhat bigger and Block here than a lot of headphones amps but to be fair it’s smaller than some but for its size it puts out a serious amount of power and that power is very clean and sounds fantastic. This unit will drive headphones with extremely high and like the Planar Magnetic HE-6. It drives them without breaking a sweat. But power is useless if it’s not clean and this sounds amazing. I’ve had a few of these companies products so I somewhat knew what to expect. FX-Audio starting to get a reputation of delivering very high-end equipment at reasonable prices and for $200. This thing is a powerhouse of an amplifier. I wouldn’t be surprised if it could drive passive speakers to a reasonable degree. Looks very cool and the build quality is excellent. This thing has a permanent place right on my desk.

Finally Enough Power
I own so many great sets of wired headphones and earphones and the problem I have is they love and need power to sound their best. I have been looking for a good solution to properly power these headphones and give them new life. I didn't want to just purchase a cheap stereo amplifier with a headphone jack. I wanted something dedicated for this specific job. This little headphone amplifier was the solution and it works like a charm! It has plenty enough power to drive all my headphones and I am rediscovering how great my headphone collection is. The build quality is very strong and good and this amplifier looks amazing in its own place on my desk next to the headphone stand waiting for whatever set of headphones I will be breaking out.
