Will it work with 2.0 amp batteries?

You can use the 1.5 amp and 2.0 amp batteries but you will find that the run-time and weight distribution are better with the 3.0amp and 4.0 amp battery.

Does it come with a sanding pad (usually triangular) ?

Not sure if Makita changed what they include with this bare tool since the last post, but it does come with two adaptors so other brands of attachments will fit on it! No Sanding pad :-( Punch in Makita A-96089 Sanding Pad on Amazon.
