I hate to say it, but it worked for me!
I had been considering stopping smoking mainly because of the price of cigs and I was kind of getting fed up being a secret smoker. I returned from a holiday last November, armed with my duty free B&H cigs and a rotten chest infection, which took me about a month to recover from, so I decided enough was enough. Bought all the nicotine replacement aids available, patches, inhalator, nasal spray, oral spray, melts, electronic cig (B&H flavour no less!) and got out a book I had been given years ago, which had festered in a cupboard (Carr's easyway I think), rattling away good style, I started the book and felt almighty annoyed by the tone of the book and found I huffed and puffed whilst not really getting this eureka moment. I then went onto Amazon and asked for self help books on stopping smoking, saw the nicotine trick at 1p (used good condition) and read all the customer reviews, thought yeah yeah whatever and decided 1p plus postage wouldn't actually kill me.The book arrived, I was still using all the products, but had the cigs down from about 40 a day to between 2 and 6. Read the book, and incredibly annoyed that I was with myself, it actually seemed to filter in somehow. So I read it again. I don't know what it does, I don't even know what it says, just some things that although you know them, seem to reach in and click. I hate speaking like that, I hate thinking that, but all I can say to you is that I work in an incredibly stressful situation, my life revolved getting to situations where I could breathe in cigs because no one at work knew I was a smoker, but in the short wakeful hours of the non working part of the day, I managed to cram in between 15 and 40 cigs. And I just stopped, just stopped wanting them, just stopped wanting the stress of trying to get one, just stopped, took off the patch, haven't been near any of my products since the Saturday before Christmas 2013. I gave myself about 6 weeks and then I started a proper campaign of health improvement, I have now lost 4 stones in weight, do at least 40 minutes everyday on an exercise bike going as hard as I can tolerate, and I am not breathless, I do not have a cough and I feel absolutely fantastic. I am still working in a very stressful job, but I don't have the added stress of trying to find a way to get a cig and the stress is exactly the same whether I am smoking or not smoking. Instead of getting up in the morning and lighting up, I get up, get my exercise gear on and hit the bike. All I can say to all of you out there who might be reading this review, it cost me 1p plus £2 something post and pack, 20 B&H is around £8.50, and I cannot go outside and set fire to £17 per day any more and consider myself sane. Just get the book, read the book and then decide, it doesn't even take that long out of your day to read it. I wish each and everyone of you reading this health, wealth and success.

Magic wand!
This book is the magic wand, the magic cure, the magic whatever you want to stop you smoking...Incredible? Maybe, but after 16 years of smoking and endless attempts to quit, this book got me out of the smoking prison, literally overnight and with no cravings, no endless mind-battles (you know the ones I mean!), no NRT, and no 'holier than thou' attitude to smokers still convinced they a. love it and b. need it. Read it. It works. I have not touched a cigarette or had any interest in going near one for 9 months. Just do it!!Wrote the above review in Aug '04 - now Aug '07 - just came back to see if the word has been spreading and read any other reviews. To any doubters who think 'oh these people have only been off it for a few hours/days/weeks/months' - give it a go. I still haven't smoked - or wanted to. 9 months and 3 years now. It works!Didn't know this book was still available - waving from January 2023 and I STILL HAVE NEVER SMOKED AGAIN! 19 years and 2 months later. I'd even forgotten the year I quit. And still so very grateful I found this book.

This book deserves six stars!
As a lot of people I started smoking as a teenager and kept doing it for 43 years! I heard about people who stopped and people who started again after breaks of four and even ten years. I knew about the struggle, the habit and I never even tried quitting. Well, this book made me do it. Almost no effort, just like that, I used a couple of patches may be for the first ten days, I did not throw away the dozen of packs and even cartons around the house, office and everywhere, nor the ashtrays neither the lighters. I do no remember when this happened, may be six years ago more or less, no special day or month or year who cares? Free, I had been free ever since and when I look at smokers now I feel just pity for them. Moreover I had marvelous surprises: my annual winter flu almost disappeared, no flu at all or one milder and shorter. I do not need so many tissues for my nose and clearing of my throat and the bigger gift... my sense of smell came back, I can't believe I had been living several dozen of years, a massive chunk of my life without smelling. It is very rewarding even if sometimes you' d rather not have it! Plus yours teeth, they go whiter, no to mention the wasted money. How the book does the trick? Well, it gives you a different point of view.

The only genuine pleasure that can ever come from smoking is Stopping. Buy this book!
Just buy this paperback book and read it with an open mind and the rest will take care of itself. I was smoking for 40 years and wanting to stop for at least 30 of those 40 years - An acquaintance recommended this book - A blessed insight which the medical profession have missed all these years. Astonishing, simply astonishing.Thank you Neil Casey. Thank you.1 year and 3 months now as a non-smoker and not a craving in sight and can't see how there could ever be another craving for the insanity that is smoking. You enjoy it?!! Please, read this book.

Highly recommended
I had been recommended this book when it first came out. Having been a smoker for over 23 years and failed on many attempts to give up, I read this book. I had an Ulrika moment and understood why I couldn't stop smoking. I stopped smoking mid way through the book and have not felt like a cigarette or cigar since, and that was over 6 years ago. I have bought several copies for friends in similar circumstance and they all agree, an excellent readable, plain English guide to stopping smoking.
