I bought this futon floor mattress hoping for something comfortable, easy to move, and supportive and it exceeded my expectations. It’s surprisingly plush for being a floor mattress, but still firm enough to feel supportive. I’ve used it for naps, movie nights, and even when my kids want to camp out in my room, and it’s held up great. It folds up easily and doesn’t take up much space, which is huge for me. The material feels durable, and it fluffs back up quickly after being rolled. If you're looking for a practical, comfy mattress without the bulk or price of a traditional one, this is definitely worth it.

The Japanese Floor Mat is very well made and once you open the mat give it some time to expand and you will be impressed as to how soft and comfortable it is. It is not heavy so it can be moved around with ease and it folds up easy when not in use.

Love this mattress. It is pretty thick and allows for great sleep. I tend to sleep better on this than my regular bed. Had it for 4 months and is still in great shape. Able to fold it and put it to the side during the day.

Very comfortable to rest and sleep on. No back pain after sleeping with this. It's light enough, for ease of use to move to any spot in a bedroom or living room. The only thing I wish it would come with is a set of straps to have it rolled up.

Very good item. I am really picky and was not satisfied with another product that I bought before this. I wanted a firm futon that would support my side-laying habit on a hardwood floor. Thickness and more importantly firmness is great. Very light weight as well.

SUPER comfortable. This is easily the best mattress I've ever owned. Granted I am half Japanese and a floor sleeper, it is ABSOLUTELY perfect for what I need it for. A tatami mat underneath and you'd be good to go! Perfect. I sleep better and I'm comfy.

A good but not great Japanese futon. I am having back pain from my overly soft mattress that is not supportive. So I bought this shikibuton and started sleeping on the floor. What I liked was that it was well made from what I could tell. So, on the first night I used it and in the morning my back was not sore but my hips were. I am a side sleeper and the mattress just isn't supportive enough to avoid having my hips basically supporting my weight. I think if you are a back sleeper then this would work for you just fine. It's also not easy to store as there's no straps or anything from keeping it folded. You can fold it, but it'll just want to "pop out" unless you put something heavy on it or use a strap of some sort. This is unfortunate. My plan now is to use both my regular bed and this futon. I'll just switch back and forth depending on whether my back is sore or not. Overall, for the price I cannot recommend it for side sleepers. If you are a back sleeper (which I'm not) then you'll probably like it. Pros: Seems well made. No funky smells. Puffed up nicely. Good for back sleepers. Neutral: Size was fine. Cons: If only it was just a bit more thick or supportive. If you're a side sleeper (like me) prepare to have your hips sore in the morning. Doesn't fold easily or stay folded. You'll need to use some kind of strap to keep it from unfolding. Price was a bit much for what is essentially an oversized chair cushion.

I got this futon and it’s super comfy and not flat or too soft. It’s got the right firmness—solid enough to give me support without feeling flat. The foam is soft enough to cushion me, but still keeps me lifted off the floor. My back feels protected from the hard floor, so I don’t wake up stiff. The stitching is neat, and the fabric feels strong and well-made. It puffed up quickly after I unrolled it and had no weird smell. I’ve been sleeping better since I put it down—it’s a real improvement over my old setup. I gave it 5 stars right away and haven’t regretted buying it. It feels like a bargain for what you get—I’d pay way more for this level of comfort. It seems durable and stays in good shape night after night.

Firm and cool. Perfect for floor sleeping.

Long story short my son is going through a rough time and I’ve been sleeping in his room with him on this mat in the floor. I have scoliosis and I actually have excellent sleeps on this. It’s not just a foam mat. Whatever they have in there, it actually keeps its shape, doesn’t have flat spots from sitting on the same spot and is very comfortable. I prefer super firm mattress so if you like those memory foam beds, this is the opposite of what you want. It’s firm but very comfortable and firm not flat. Honestly, it does not fold up at all (not at all like the picture) and I feel if you did try to tri-fold it, maybe it would crease and not be as comfortable as it is. I store it slid against the wall vertically, flat, next to my sons twin bed frame when not in use.

Serves its purpose, is equally comfortable as any firm mattress and quality feels top, also the suede like fabric looks like it will last. Guest and cat approved.
