Easy set-up, very fast, feature rich. I am impressed so far!
So far so good! I got this for my home network wanted something full-featured without the subscriptions. My previous device would stutter and take a while for the decent picture when watching youtube and netflix. I hooked this up behind my ISP firewall (currently doublenatting) and notice the speeds are great I can stream music, while wife on video conference call and I can run a speed test with my phone all at the same time with no interruptions! My last firewall would stutter when I launched a new application from another device on occasion. I like that I can check status from my phone. I just set this up a few minutes ago so still playing with the settings. I did have an issue not able to log into the device after I changed the Wifi Password, should not be related but affected my login. I had to power cycle the device and then it all came back. I am using the USB port by connecting it to a spare 4 tb Hard Drive where I keep my music and back up files. So far everything is working well. Wi-fi speeds are decent. Most of my gear runs wifi 6 and MIMO, backwards compatibility is not an issue.. I have not tested any of the filters. The wall mount a bit flimsy but it works but hard to hide the wires, Wish the USB port was at a different angle, so it does not push the bottom out when mounted on the wall.. I worked for 24 years with Cisco network devices and firewalls, this was easy to set up, has a help on each menu and a setup wizard. It then lets you go pretty granular into the settings. I think they did a nice job on this one. Asus is from Taiwan not mainland China so hopefully it does not leak data.

Confirmed AiMesh incompatibility - x3!
*UPDATED 5/12/22 & 5/30/22 - SEE BOTTOM* Good router, but useless to me! One star for a major compatibility oversight. If you are like me and own a trusty RT-AC1900P and are considering buying this GT-AC2900 to use them in AiMesh mode to expand your range, then this router is NOT for you. I just spent the last 5 days doing extensive testing to solve the mystery. TL;DR: The AC2900 in AiMesh router mode doesn't accept the AC1900P as a node, a critical flaw when it's advertised as compatible. But let me be clear - if you will *not* be using AiMesh *specifically* with an RT-AC1900P, then this router *is* a five-star choice. The details: I had one AC1900P already. I needed to use AiMesh to extend my signal out to a concrete block building about 100 feet away from my house. Any radio reception out there is scarce...again, concrete block. So I bought an additional AC1900P to try AiMesh, and I saw this one for just a few bucks more, so I bought both. I also borrowed a friend's AX58U for test purposes. Long story short, AiMesh is truly amazing. With both AC1900Ps meshed, I can get about half my original speed in the external building. Impressive IMO. If the AX58U is the router and the 1900P is the node, I actually get 95% of the original speed. Incredible, truly, but I don't want to spend AX58U money... When I tried the AC2900 as the AiMesh router with the AC1900P as the node...nothing. The AC2900 doesn't recognize my old AC1900P. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I tried the new AC1900P. Same result. What is really odd though is that both AC1900Ps will find the AC2900 every time when using the AC2900 as a node. That's useless though, because you want the stronger router to act as the router and the weaker one to be the node. No matter what, the AX58U meshed with everything perfectly as both router and node. After 5 hours of trying, I gave up and called Asus tech support. I explained, and they said "no problem, I'll walk you through it." They reached the same dead end. So I said I'd reset all of them and start fresh. I made them hold my hand for every detail. They even tried hardwiring them together to make them mesh. No dice. After an hour and a half, they were out of answers. They claimed it was defective. So I requested a defective return via Amazon and they sent a new GT-AC2900 replacement. I opened it up today and started over again. Same exact results. Both AC1900Ps will accept both AC2900s as nodes, but the AC2900s in router mode refuse to accept either AC1900P as a node. Two identical units of each type give identical results. That's not a fluke. I know I sound crazy... Who tests 5 routers side-by-side? Well, I took photos for proof, but I had to return my friend's AX58U prior to the pictures. I definitely know how to use Asus AiMesh, considering I was shown every way possible via tech support. I'm no amateur with computers. It works perfectly every time, every way, except when the GT-AC2900 is the AiMesh router and an RT-AC1900P is the AiMesh node. I will be calling Asus back during business hours tomorrow and revealing this data to them. Hopefully this gets corrected, and hopefully this helps a fellow RT-AC1900P owner make an informed choice. *UPDATE 5/12/22* After finding more time to tackle this issue, I purchased an Asus ROG Strix GS-AX3000 router to perform this same task: using it as an AiMesh router to serve my AC-1900P node, a task that my friend's RT-AX3000 had no issues doing (which means my AC1900P is not the culprit here). To my complete disbelief, THE GS-AX3000 HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE! Another two hour phone call to tech support Tier 2 led to another "it must be defective" answer. Even Asus couldn't get them to mesh. 3 out of 3 ROG routers across two different models is no coincidence. Asus needs to promptly remove the "AiMesh Router" capability from their marketing material for all of these ROG routers before they get sued by someone for false advertising. Again, both ROG routers will work as AiMesh nodes, but NOT as AiMesh routers. No more ROG routers for me, AiMesh is a feature I cannot go without. I love Asus and can't stand the thought of buying another inferior brand, but this is too large of an oversight to pretend they didn't know about. I guess I'll be getting an RT-AX3000 and stop trusting Asus to competently advertise features. *Update 5/30/22* Because I refuse to give up on Asus, I bought a second identical GS-AX3000 because my local big box "W" store was practically throwing them away (<$60). Unlike the GT-AC2900, the GS-AX3000 *DOES* work as an AiMesh *ROUTER* to another AX3000. So this now confirms that Asus' claimed AiMesh compatibility has major holes and unfortunately it does seem random among models. Thankfully it's not random among individual units. The best advice I can give is YMMV when serving nodes of other model routers. This will be my final update unless something really weird or bad happens. I now have an optimal network setup, so no more experiments for me.

ASUS RT-BE92U Great Router at a very Generous Price...Buy it and Do Not Believe the Bad Reviews
Was skeptical about purchasing this router... Setup was easy as the Asus app is very easy to use. On the routers initial firmware from the box...it is reluctant to disconnect you from the internet but, with latest firmware update...the router is steady and can easily handle multiple wired and wireless connections. I do have several streaming devices (10) including gaming and especially I am able to work from home without any disconnection issues from a server. Asus MLO feature was the initial culprit issue... it was included on the bandwidth and many of the devices just aren't ready for 6g or wifi7. If you are on the fence about this router...don't be. It is awesome and very customizable. You can disable MLO or disable wifi7 or disable 6g... and then use it when you want or when devices catch up to wifi7 or 6g. The latest firmware update included a check box to MLO under the Professional tab to allow the user to uncheck the option to include or dis-include the 6g band...user also has the option to separate the bands (smart connect). I hope that this review helps those wondering about this issue. It is the users fault as to why this router has bad reviews...the router is powerful and is awesome and is fully customizable as is all of ASUS products...not limited or generic. User has the choice as to what the routers capabilities are and what the router is being used for...goal of the user.
