Bose’s best. Top notch sound, ANC. Comfortable.
QC Ultras are being quoted as Bose’s best ANC headphones to date. Got these an attractive price in Feb 2025. 1. Sound: The quality of sound / clarity is impressive, balanced and clear across bass, mid and treble. The bass is a passive bass (rich in tone but no physical vibration as I understand it means). The default bass is a bit rich for me so I toned it down using the EQ in the Bose App. Other than that, the rest is crystal clear to my ears. 2. Active Noise Cancellation: Not seen better ANC in this price range. QC Ultras take it up a couple of notches with intelligent ANC adjusting to ambience. You can customise as per needs using modes. The “ANC level” control is no more accessible as a button, but instead is now set in “modes”. You can add any number of custom modes and mark some modes as favourites and the favourites can be toggled through using the multifunction button, when in use. If you want to simply tune out of the world with nothing playing on the device/ headphones, that works too. Silence. 3. Designed for comfort and fit: Lightweight with a cushioned headband and ear pads hinged to an articulated aluminium frame, QC Ultras are designed well for long listening sessions avoiding ear fatigue. 4. Battery Life: Upto a day on music, with a quick charge feature when needed. 5. Connectivity: The Bluetooth 5.3 is enabled, and it can toggle between two devices at the press of a button (say, phone and laptop). 6. Functionality has changed from previous generations with the volume control enabled through a capacitive-touch rib at the back of the right ear pad. 7.Spatial audio is an addition. The spatial audio effect is easily observable. But, some fixing is needed to make the sound as good as when using without spatial audio. Maybe a firmware/software update coming soon? Bose QC Ultra headphones are superior for ANC, comfortable wearing, and sound clarity.

Exceptional Sound Quality and Comfort – The Bose QC Ultra is a Game Changer!
I recently purchased the Bose QC Ultra, and I am absolutely blown away by their performance! These headphones have completely exceeded my expectations in every way. Sound Quality: The sound is nothing short of amazing. Bose has perfected the balance of deep bass, crisp highs, and clear mids. Whether I’m listening to music, podcasts, or watching movies, the audio experience is immersive and rich. The noise cancellation feature is incredible, creating a near-silent environment no matter where you are. Comfort: These headphones are extremely comfortable for long listening sessions. The ear cups are soft and plush, and the headband is adjustable without feeling too tight. I’ve worn them for hours without any discomfort or pressure on my ears, which is rare for over-ear headphones. Design and Build: The sleek, modern design looks fantastic, and the materials feel premium. The headphones are also lightweight, which makes them easy to carry around in my bag without feeling like a burden. The folding design is a nice touch for compact storage. Battery Life: The battery life is stellar. I’ve been able to use these for multiple days without having to charge them, and when I do charge them, the fast-charging feature is super convenient. Features: The touch controls are intuitive, and the app integration makes adjusting settings a breeze. I also love the customizable noise-cancelling modes, which allow me to tailor the listening experience to my environment. Overall: The Bose QC Ultra has quickly become my go-to headphones for travel, work, and leisure. The combination of sound quality, comfort, and advanced features makes these worth every penny. If you’re looking for premium headphones, you can’t go wrong with the Bose QC Ultra!

Works really well for students, although price is very high.
I bought this a month ago for studying with Anc on and this did not disappoint that purpose. The product can be worn easily for stretches of 4hrs at a time, charges quite fast, the cabin pressure is no big deal and can be easily adjusted to. I am no soundphile so did not do much experimenting with sound modes, although sound for songs and videos were good. Cons: The price is very high, the connectivity with bluetooth sometimes acts up(very few times) and disconnects automatically or fails to connect with a single device, Although Anc is top notch it does not work well with sharp sounds so be careful there, although, I'm sure alternative Anc products have this same weakness, in hot and humid climate the earpads will cause sweating and will need more care, mic quality is great but not as good as simply speaking with the phone on your ear 👂. Overall great for studying in a noisy environment, if you have headaches or are sensitive to environmental sounds or just wants to protect their hearing, if you have the money to spend and live in a slightly less humid and less warmer climates.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra: A Symphony for Your Ears, Unleashed with FLAC and Aptx Adaptive
As an owner of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones, paired with my OnePlus 13, I can confidently say these are an absolute revelation in personal audio. Bose has truly delivered a flagship experience that excels in every critical area, elevating daily listening into an immersive journey. From the moment you put them on, the comfort is simply unmatched. The lightweight design and plush earcups create a gentle, yet secure, seal that allows for hours of fatigue-free listening. This is crucial for long commutes, extended work sessions, or simply losing yourself in your favorite tracks. Now, here's the secret to truly unlocking the full potential of these magnificent headphones: feed them high-quality audio. While they'll make any audio sound good, to experience their true fidelity, you need to step up your source. This is where your OnePlus 13, with its aptX Adaptive support, becomes a perfect partner. With aptX Adaptive, your phone can dynamically adjust the audio bitrate to deliver the highest possible quality wirelessly, minimizing latency and maximizing detail. To complement this, I highly recommend: * FLAC or other lossless music files: Downloading your music in formats like FLAC ensures you're listening to uncompressed audio, preserving every bit of detail from the original recording. * Spotify Premium (when HiFi is available) or Apple Music Premium: Apple Music Premium already offers a vast library in lossless and high-resolution lossless audio, which you can enable in the settings. While I've been enjoying my music immensely with this setup. The synergy between the Bose QuietComfort Ultra's incredible sound and ANC, and the high-fidelity audio delivery from my OnePlus 13, creates a personal concert experience wherever I go. In conclusion, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are an exceptional investment for anyone seeking unparalleled comfort, world-class noise cancellation, and truly stunning audio. But remember, to get the absolute best out of them, pair them with a device like the OnePlus 13 that supports advanced codecs like aptX Adaptive, and make sure your music source is delivering lossless or high-resolution audio. You won't regret it!

Buy Other Sound Equipment
I have been using the AirPods Pro 2 daily and the Shokz OpenRun for walks and the gym. I was considering getting a pair of headphones (1) for better sound quality and (2) for better noise cancellation. I went ahead with the purchase on October 19th at a price of approximately ₹22,000. Mistakes/assumptions: 1. A higher price means better performance: The AirPods Max still uses Apple’s H1 chip. Despite its exorbitant price, it doesn’t compete with the AirPods Pro 2, which uses the Apple H2 chip. Mark Ellis Reviews has done a video on this, and I compared sound quality reviews against these as a benchmark. 2. Being a class leader in ANC means their sound quality must also be somewhat on par. 3. Not doing A/B testing for sound quality before buying. I was listening to music on my AirPods when I received the delivery. My first impression upon wearing the Bose QC Ultra was disappointment in how lackluster the sound quality was. I tried adjusting the EQ but didn’t notice much of an improvement. I tried out its unique selling point (USP), Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), but it was nothing remarkable. Immersive Audio: A gimmicky attempt at replicating Apple’s Spatial Audio. It sounds very processed and artificial, unlike Spatial Audio, which feels natural. Popping sound when walking: There is a noticeable popping sound when walking, which makes the headphones usable only while at your desk. There is a Reddit thread indicating that this is a known issue. Tips for achieving high-quality output: • On the Apple Music app, turn on Hi-Res Lossless. TL;DR: • Noise cancellation: 8/10 • Sound quality: 2/10 • Spatial Audio (Immersive Audio): 1/10 In terms of sound quality, the AirPods Pro 2 and Shokz are in a different league compared to the Bose QC Ultra, which, even if sold for ₹5,000 to ₹8,000, is not worth the price. Note: There are no returns after purchase. Update : Bose is refusing to address the popping sound issue. Amazon will be checking with them and are expected to get back to me by 5th of November. Will update the progress here.

Great sound, great product.
Earpads are extremely comfortable. Don’t know how long it will last though because Bose had a problem with that always. Charges fast and has an amazing sound quality. Background noise is very very faint making it perfect to be immersed into your music. Bose products seem to be durable. Mine was working perfectly even after a drop. One button to start and is very easy to use. Multiple devices can be connected together. Design is very classy and straightforward. Recommend for people who want to use a classy and expensive headphone.

Great Sound, Comfort, ANC and Build Quality
If you’re on the fence, not sure about which high end headphone to buy, I’d highly recommend that you get the Bose QuietComfort Ultra. If you’re someone who likes to listen to a balanced sound signature as opposed to bass heavy headphones, then this is the perfect product for you. I am not saying that bass is poor on these headphones, you can definitely hear it but you may not feel that extra thump you might find on Sony products. The noise cancelling is just out of the world. For flights and long bus journeys, the headphones will drown out enough of the ambient noise to let you sleep peacefully. The ear cups and headband are soft and comfortable enough for long hours of listening. The ear cups are also really deep so most ear types won’t touch the driver enclosure. The Bose app is also well designed and easy to use. The immersive audio feature is great for certain songs and for watching shows, but it won’t work well with every song. I prefer to have it turned off to get more battery life. I can get a week’s worth of battery out of each charge (I listen to music for about 3-4 hours per day at 50-60% volume). The hinges and other components of these headphones feel sturdy and well built. You can go ahead and get these without a second thought. However, if you’re someone who makes a lot of phone calls from your headphones, or if you’re a bass head, you might want to consider other options like the XM5, since they have better microphones and a warmer, bass heavy sound signature.

Surprisingly robust & better than older QC units
Been using these for over a year now & these are my 3rd Böse units after the QC2 & QC3. My primary use is for ANC during air travel in which Bose is significantly ahead of competition. I also have a b&w Px8 which I picked only coz of 50% off but the build is inferior to böse which is surprising coz both my previous böse Headsets were delicate & pads wore off faster than my playlists. Sound quality is better than the xm5 when I did back to back without the immersive Audio gimmick. But then for music I use dedicated a&k DAP & wired headphones which obviously feel far more superior to any wireless ones which can't present true hi-res audio. Nevertheless the brilliant case holds the folding headset well & light touch on/off is a highlight. Sandstone shade looks premium but is a dirt magnet. Overall I'll recommend to someone who exclusively wants ANC & premium design and isn't an audiophile. With Böse, you don't look for VFM or audio fidelity because cheaper chifi brands do better! But this one turns heads & does brilliantly if your primary source of media is a mobile phone & not a DAP.
