No grommets for the lids
Was making sauerkraut and getting ready to put in the jars to ferment. Opened the 4 pack of fermentation kit wide mouth. Never received the grommets for the lids. Everything else looks and works good please send grommets I purchased in Aug of 2025

Easy and perfect
It took me a long, long time to gather the courage and initiative to try fermenting hot peppers. Because of the extraordinarily hot summer and long growing season in 2022 I harvested the last of my hot peppers in November. I started four 16 oz jars of these with a 3% brine (using a scale). I let them ferment for three months and there was not a speck of any kind of mold or fungus on them whatsoever. I did see a bit of whiteness settling at the very bottom of the jars and was afraid it was that kahm yeast I’d heard about; however, after some Google research I discovered that it is nothing more than some of the normal bacteria dying off (due to having unfavorable conditions) and is totally natural in the bottom of the jar. And the peppers are divine! I blended some up into hot sauce and others we add onto sandwiches etc. I’ve already ordered a few more sets and I am super excited to try making sauerkraut, kimchi, radishes etc. I know people do ferments without these special gadgets but I would so much rather use them and have perfectly clean ferments then have to scrape off some mold, because every time I read somewhere to “just scrape off the mold” it makes me feel a little bit funny inside.

These work great, but the plastic is a little brittle
I have done a lot of fermenting with these and I'm mostly happy with them (especially because they were pretty inexpensive in my opinion). A couple of the pieces have cracked/chipped, but they are still usable. I have a similar system that I bought many years ago that is made of more durable plastic. But overall this is a pretty good set.

Great Product
I used to Can Jam Jelly and Preserve years ago but like most women today I was a single working mother of 4 children and one just doesn't have time to do this. My children are now all grown and gone and have children of their own. When we did fermenting it was remembering when to do things like digging it up out of the ground releasing the gas putting cap back on shaking it releasing the gas and putting the cap back on putting it back in the ground and covering it with dirt. I don't know who invented this device but it makes life so much easier when fermenting. Your product is strong durable and works great and makes fermenting very easy to do with less work I plan on ordering a few more of them sometime early next week. Sincerely, Rhonda Clark

Works perfect for fermenting
Works well with my wide mouth Ball jars. I've used several times to make different types of ferments and this have held up well.

Very simple and very effective
I use this for fermentation of vegetables. The kit comes with lids, silicon seals and grommets, and the airlock assemblies. These work perfectly with the simple components and design. The grommet and seals prevent new air from entering and the user adds water in the airlock assembly to complete the seal. I sometimes use this in conjunction with glass weights which hold the bulk of the food under the brine solution. I have had no issue with mold forming or anything which could cause a ferment to go bad. I have fermented sauerkraut, peppers, and cucumbers using these and have had no issue with using. The lids are for wide mouth jars and work on different types of jars. These are very easy to use and have consistently contributed to a very solid fermented product.

Useful, but you must be selective.
Background: more than 20 years making sauerkraut, and fermented cucumber pickles. Background in metals chemistry. These fermenting lids seal resonably well, the silicone jar seal and the airlock grommet work and seal well. The airlocks are similar to many three part designs sold through home brewer suppliers and, despite the previous reviews, were never expected or designed to be sterilized in boiling water (brewing cleaners and sanitizers are the usual cleaning agents) and the instructions specifically state this. This version of the airlock does not have any fill lines or instructions as to how far to fill the airlock for proper operation and to prevent the solution from being sucked back into the ferment when the process slows down. The metal lids are well made and the rolled edges are far less likely to cut or tear the grommet seal as is common with a raw drilled holes, however the metal that the lids are made of is poor quality and corroded where it came in contact with the soy sauce and vinegar brine for Manul Changachi (Korean pickled garlic). As there are different quality levels of stainless and each has different chemical resistance, these may be stainless, but are not what I would have expected. I haven't had any issues with the sauerkraut or kimchis that I have used these with, however it appears that the user will need to be selective as to what these are used with and what would need a plastic lid instead.

Fun, Easy and Accurate
These kits provide a great and simple easy way to ferment your fruits or vegetables. It comes with a wide-mouth jar lid with a hole in the center (with a grommet, a vertical container to release the CO2 while preventing O2 from coming in). The Top caps it off. It offers a simple and reliable kit that will help you ferment. It’s a great hobby and a way to give great gifts. Six containers make for a great amount of fermenting. Washable and reusable as well.
