We recently had a mold issue in a closet, so decided to fog the entire house, as mold spores had traveled to other rooms (which was documented by petri dishes placed in a few spots outside the closet). The instructions that came with the fogger kit very specifically said to deactivate any smoke alarms tied in with an alarm system. Some of our smoke detectors are generic, so we could just remove the batteries, but the 4 fire alarms connected in our alarm system would have been alarming once we started fogging. So, our alarm company told us about these little "shower caps' to cover the smoke alarm unit up. I guess they are also recommended for when you are painting, cooking something that creates smoke, etc. These are very cute, were reasonably priced, and did an excellent job. We had no visits from the fire department on the day we fogged the house :)

Easy to use so smoke detector doesn't go off when cookinf

My smoke alarm is located right outside the guest bathroom where I keep my cat's litter box. The dust from the litter box (I'm assuming) was what was regularly setting off my smoke alarm. It was going off randomly and I just couldn't pinpoint any other cause. Since I put the cover over it, the alarm has not gone off at all. It's only been three days, but I think it's working. I'm happy and my two cats are no longer freaking out. Peace restored.

We bought these for our camper. When we cook the smoke alarm goes off. It’s a little too close to the stove. When we are cooking we just cover the detector up and it no longer goes off then just uncover when done. Super easy!

My fire alarm keeps going off in my apartment, even if I’m just boiling water. So I had enough and decided to buy these covers and they work great! Does the job and fits perfectly over my fire alarm. Very stretchy and fits like a shower cap. I was able to fit 3 over my fire alarm! 👍🏽

Flimsy and weak/cheap elastic. Do not recommend.
