Better than Okay
I'm not some coffee snob, in fact, I'm not sure I know how to judge a good coffee from a bad one if I'm being completely honest. So I'll just share my thoughts and you can decide whether to care or not. The bag is pretty. The beans seemed fresh, and I grinded them to a medium... maybe medium coarse for an italian press using the Hoffman method. It was a smooth cup for the most part, though the beans had some flakes that were weird and not consistent with other coffees I've tried. The end result was a cup that was pretty smooth, though it did have a stronger bitter taste than some of the other bags I've tried recently. I did not catch a brown sugar tone to it, nor did I find any other tone. That's not necessarily indicative of there not being flavor, maybe I just can't detect it. I've been able to detect it in others, but not this one. I've been trying to drink coffee straight, and managed to get through a cup with no additives. I'm sure with milk, it would be phenomenal but just straight up I felt like it was decent. I would say, better than okay but not pretty good. This presents a difficulty in rating this because I don't want to give a 3 star rating, yet, I don't think it deserves 4. I would give a solid 3.5 if I had the option, but I will go with a 4. I'm curious how this would do as espresso and in the cold brew. My guess is that it would be alright as cold brew, but espresso would be hard to dial it in.

Get your Sharpie ready.
If you are going to call some personalized, honestly there should be something more to it than a little while space to write someone's name. I could write a name on a bag of SB, you can pick which SB, since there is white space. The coffee itself is better than one SB, maybe not the other. It's lighter than I thought it would be, which is a good thing, I prefer a milder roast. Overall, it brews a nice cup of coffee. If you're paying for the packaging, then it's not a value, not sure if the contents are worth it either. It should come with a Sharpie!

Solid Columbian Coffee
Super pure coffee aroma right out of the package. While I was brewing the coffee, I checked out the packaging. The packaging "brings the fun" and is clever. You can personalize a message on the package, if you are gifting. It is billed as a medium Columbian roast, but I thought it was more of a light Columbian roast. Sipping it was very comforting and mellow. The taste was purely a light coffee flavor, and I didn't taste the hints of citrus as was suggested. While the price is super-premium, the coffee itself was what I would call a quality gourmet classification. A unique take on coffee with inviting packaging and aroma but the cost was a little too pricey.

Tangy taste
We didn't have such good luck with this coffee. First thing the bag was split along one of the seems and we estimate half was lost in the box it came in. We tried it anyway and this coffee does not do well in Keureg filter cups. This was a first for us. It condensed so tight that the machine overflows and automatically shuts off. We brewed it in a French press after understanding the behavior. Very tangy flavor. Definitely not smooth. Bold would be an appropriate description. Even with some cream and sugar the tanginess remains. Strength is between medium and dark but we are really wondering how much if the flavor profile was affected by the bag being open.

Fresh and very smooth
This is great Colombian coffee. It's extremely fresh. My bag was roasted in August 2024, just a little over a month before I received it. It doesn't get much more fresh than that. The coffee itself is good quality. It's very smooth, nutty, and has nice roasted notes. However, it was very mild and I find that I have to use around 20% more coffee to get a similar strength with my typical pour over. I opted for ground, but typically go with whole bean. Whenever possible, it's best to get whole bean because the coffee will stay fresh and fragrant for far longer than ground coffee. Overall - excellent quality, fresh roasted Colombian coffee.
