It Works, but
I usually don't review, but have to. This is easy to set up. Operation is a breeze. I've used often for about a year now. I've had no problem and the light is still going strong. And zero bugs in sight finally. This really does help get rid of bed bugs, dust mites, spiders, and even those pesky biting lady bugs! It also helps kill mold, germs, and bacteria with consistent, repeated use. It's a small version of those weird looking uv machines they use in hospitals. The ozone smell is very strong when you first go in. You have to wear a mask or hold your breath to open a window or turn on a fan. That is stated on the product. As is the caution to not go into the room or look at the light when it's on. If you have bed bugs, you need to use it repeatedly for about a week. Then about once a week. Then about every 2-3 weeks. I used it at floor level to start, and then moved it up a little higher to my shelf. It kills active bugs but probably not eggs. Those you can treat with a spray such as bug md or bye bugs. I would recommend you also purchase a bed bug mattress encasement first step. Also get a raised frame for your bed and ditch the headboard where bugs love to hide and lay eggs. Everything about getting rid of bed bugs takes a lot of effort and $$. I've been there as a teacher who did home visits and could bring home the uninvited guests without ever knowing ( which is what happened to me) . However with maintenance use each week, you will kill the new baby bugs before they can feed and lay eggs with this uv light. If you don't want to spend $$ on expensive extermination that you have to have to get done more than once as well, , this is Great alternative. There is no cure all, nor a one and done treatment for bed bugs. But this has been a great ongoing solution and given me hope it's finally under control. There is an odor. But the sprays have odors too. The smell after about 4 hours is that of the atmosphere right after rain and thunderstorm IMO. It smells so clean when you go back in about 4 hours later to sleep. On top of that, it has alleviated my allergies. I let the light go directly onto my bedding, clothing, furniture,etc... Caution: The remote control is the ONLY way to activate the light, so keep up with it. That also provides a failsafe, so you don't accidentally turn it in when you are setting it out and blind yourself. You can turn it on through a door. $100 for something that helps me have peace of mind is worth every penny. To be getting rid of any bug, odor, mold or germ is priceless.

Clean smell & bug free.
This is wonderful. It cleans the air, takes out unwanted bugs, not stink bugs though. Great for bedbugs, works better than BugMD. Wish I could afford to buy a couple more they are worth the money.

wear glove to install light
Product does appear to work & kills bed bugs. However, my first unit only worked twice and it was a little difficult to get it exchanged. I ended up with a refund. But I bought two more and they worked like a champ and are still going. Very pleased. It is possible that you should not touch the light when installing it in the halo but wear gloves or use a tissue or paper towel when installing it.

Awful Ozone Odor That Lingers And Doesn't Go Away
I followed the instructions completely. I turned it on while I was out of the room via the included remote and set the timer to 60 minutes. After the timer was done and the machine shut off, I went into the room to ventilate it and covered my mouth and nose. I opened the windows and even used a fan to help ventilate the room. After 4 hours, the smell was still so strong that I had to ventilate the room overnight! It puts out a lot of ozone and has caused me to have a lingering headache and I've been feeling very ill. I had to have my son sleep in a completely different room and far away from his room because of the strong ozone smell hours after using this machine and ventilating the room. It's been over 24 hours and it still has the lingering smell. Everyone in my household has been feeling ill ever since this product was used and no one was ill prior to using it. Had no choice but to send it back for a refund. Our help and we'll being is more important to me than keeping this product. Even after unplugging this product and it sitting unused for hours, it still has the strong ozone odor pouring off of it. If you get this product, be sure to vacate your home completely for a few days and ventilate your home for a few days as well to get the odor out completely or you may start feeling the negative effects of it as well. If I would've known about these side effects of this product ahead of time, I never would've bought it.

Halo UV Sanitizer
Fast secure delivery. Used in two rooms with with no extension cord. Product stoped working when used extension cord. Used different extension cord (new one, shorter one, not so heavy duty), worked fine. I continued with cleaning house with product. What a difference it made in the air, smells cleaner. Make sure to open windows to vent after use for at least ten minutes. I do wish product came with instructions (troubleshooting, cleaning, how often to use, etc.), it only tells you set up, and how to use it, even if you go to website (that I found). This is great product, works, and heard from other people that have it, they are sold on it. In my opinion, I would definitely recommend it for everyone as it has made a difference in my home.... Also, I found that swissklip (maker of product), has procedures to follow for help. Email them, or go to website on chat room. They usually get back to you in 24-48 hrs (sometimes earlier), but they do get back quickly, answer your questions and give you result right away. So don't get frustrated if you do have to go to their website and contact them.Just be patient because they will help you out.

No effective way to know if it works.
Bought this product recently, as my children have had a terrible cough and I am trying anything to clean the house of viruses and bacteria. I read the instructions and used the UV as instructed. What I can say confidently is, the light does turn on and the timer does work. When finished, like other reviews state, there is a distinct odor in the room. I opened the windows and ventilated the room for 30 minutes and that help. And, as stated in other reviews, the product is poorly constructed of low grade plastic, BUT, it does work as described despite the poor quality. What I can't say with confidence is, does the product really work. There is no way to effectively measure this question, unless I had an air quality test done before and after using the product. It is not like I can clean up dead bacteria after using the product to show that the UV light is indeed working effectively. So, you are just left to hope that the product works as described by SwissClip. Secondly, you do have to ventilate the room after using the product, which in and of itself helps clean a room by letting in "fresh air". Also, where I live, it was around 15 degrees on the days I used the product, so the room was a fridgerator after ventilating. If you have to ventilate the room after using the product, might as well save the money and use simple cleaners and then ventilate the room, saves money and you know the room is clean. In addition, how harmful is the "odor" that comes from the product. So, while the product worked as described (Turned on and off, UV light, odor), you have no baseline to judge whether it is truly killing harmful bacteria or not. You just hope that it is. Hope this helped, purchase if you like, but just be aware that you have no idea if it is effective, harmful, or just a plain gimmick.

It worked. All allergens we had were eliminated. I finally slept through the night and woke up with no congestion whatsoever. Feeling like a new person. Highly recommend.

Piles of Dead Bugs in 15 Minutes
This UV-C light is undoubtedly powerful enough to kill small insects. We have a possible bed bug infestation in one bedroom. We turned the light on for 15 minutes in that bedroom. When we went back into the room, we found hundreds of dead bugs on top of the bed--little reddish black ones about 5 mm in size. The only problem so far is that bugs have to be in direct line of sight of the UV-C light to be killed. This will require moving the light around, stripping bed sheets, flipping the mattress and box springs, and doing several more treatments at various places in the room. DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE UV-C LIGHT! It can cause severe skin burns and eye injury. Assembly was less than 2 minutes with no tools required: [1] pop the light into the base; [2] pop the U-shaped light guard/holder into the base. Be careful on step 2 to ensure that the depression in the middle-inside of the 'U' is over the top of the light before pushing the U-shaped piece fully into the two holes for it in the base. So far, after two or three hours of being powered on, we have not had a problem with the remote not working, the remote getting hot, the light failing to turn on, or the light failing to turn off at the end of the selected treatment period. We've got two months to return it, so we'll keep using it frequently to ensure we didn't get a lemon like some reviewers apparently did.
