Less abstract than regular Legos; great for our 3-year olds!
Our 3-year old twin grandchildren enthusiastically wanted the box opened after it was unwrapped then started putting pieces together. Definitely age-appropriate. Pieces are larger than standard Legos and easier to connect and remove than standard Lego’s. The set also includes animal and foliage pieces. An instructional illustrated step by step booklet (55 pages) is included which is useful for the accompanying adult. Their daddy joined them and they created variations illustrated in the booklet with his guidance. When they are a little older, they will be able to match the illustrations with the pieces independently. I noticed it was the one toy they did together, unlike most of their other new toys. This is also one toy they have played with almost every day since Christmas.

All Duplo sets are amazing, but the 3-in-1 Wild Animal Families set has become a favorite in our house. My toddler stayed engaged for a solid 45 minutes, giving me time to get things done around the house, which is a huge win! The set includes 10 adorable animals and plenty of bright, chunky pieces that are perfect for little hands. We love the three build options (savannah, forest, jungle), which keep the play fresh and creative. Like all Lego, the quality is top-notch: durable, safe, and easy to assemble. It’s also a great way to build storytelling and fine motor skills. If you’re already a fan of Lego/Duplo, this set won’t disappoint. Highly recommend for ages 2+!
