This umbrella worked exactly as described and was wonderful. Loved it on our trip. Easy to open and close. With reverse design, water drips away when folded so you stay dry! Loved it in the rain storm. That was 8 months ago. This last rainstorm - ack! it didn't open correctly or close. I don't know what happened; BUT, emailed them and in a couple days had a brand new umbrella!! Wow! They stand by their product and their customer service is OUTSTANDING! Even better, I have my favorite umbrella back in service!

Designed sturdy and great on windy / rainy days. Slightly hard to open and close.

Stood up to tropical downpours and some wind in Panama. It could not deal with the strong wind though. It is also fairly small so keep that in mind. I do enjoy it but if you're in anything where you know you will be in heavy rain I would carry a standard umbrella.
