Was finishing a rather large prefab storage shed and needed a saw to replace my nonfunctional radial arm saw. I like the mobility, it is a great plus and it has plenty of power. Owners manual is quite extensive and gives very clear instructions for setting up and maintaining the saw. You can download a digital copy, which I did, and had my tablet nearby referencing the manual as I setup and used the saw initially. I like the way it stows away and it is very easy to take it from the stowed condition to the ready position. If you have the room you can leave it in the ready position as it is quite easy to move around. Everything tucks into holding areas on the saw which keeps me from losing or misplacing them. A well thought out and solid saw. There are some good choices out there but I’m glad I chose the SKIL.

I bought this to replace my twenty year old Bosch portable table saw after the motor seized up. Almost replaced it with a new one. It was a great saw and It did a lot of work. This worm drive Skilsaw has a few upgrades I sometimes rip oak, osage orange, purple heart and other dense woods. Even wet southern yellow pine is hard on a saw. I feel like it isn't stressed by hard woods and won't overheat the motor by the sound. The springs on the brushes of my last saw got too hot and detached from the brushes. Twice. Don't need that happening again. The large wheels, directional sawdust exhaust, and the crosscut guide locks into grooves are nice. The way the fence is gear driven is good and more accurate. I put an optional table extension attachment on it and I think it should be a standard feature, but it wasn't. Iv'e used it for a few months now and I think I made a good choice.

It's on the higher price range for portable job site table saws, but this one is worm drive with tons of torque and a nice mobile stand that easily folds up. You can buy a cheaper saw, but this one seems to be a very good option for those who don't want to be replacing their tools often. This one is built to work and built to last. The assembly of the mobile base was a bit of a pain, but it can be done easier with help. The table saw itself was accurate right out of the box. No adjustments were required but there are easy adjustments options there if needed. The rack and pinion fence is smooth and easily adjusted. The miter gauge is the typical plastic with a metal runner that is of the T-style slot in the table.

This table saw is a beast. I have been ripping 2x8's to make 2x4's for my whole house remodel/rebuild and there is no issue ripping them with this powerful saw. New 2x4s are soft, but 2x8s are made from better wood, and it saves money. The fence works perfectly. The open concept frame makes cleaning it easy. It is all-around exactly what I need. And I've enjoyed telling my motorhead friends that I have to do oil changes on my beastly worm drive saw!

So far so good! I really like this saw, it cuts well, I like how it folds up so easily, and the blade stops a lot quicker than the dewalt table saw. Only thing is this plastic piece broke off when I was turning the sawdust outfeed pvc pipe, so wouldn’t be a bad idea to have something stronger for that.
