Scene-A-Rama Water Diorama Kit

Great little building set for diorama my son and I had a great time putting it together. It's pretty easy. The only part that sucks is the waiting for the player to dry. Other than that if you're stuck on ideas and need something that can be done in a couple days this is your kit it comes with absolutely everything you need.

Woodland Scenics has a number of Learning Kits that explain how to use their products, and this one is fun and a joy to work. I have written at length about what a great company Woodland Scenics is, and I will say it again: These people produce everything you will ever need or want to put together terrain and landscape for wargaming, train modeling, dioramas or school projects. Their colors, textures, varieties, and quality are the best in the world, and I used to try other manufacturers. Once I started running into Woodland Scenics on a regular basis, and saw first-hand how good their products are and how well they work, I stopped going anywhere else. Their products are really the best. Example: Their tree armatures bend; others break. Their grass looks a natural green (and other colors); others look like monkey vomit or pea soup gone bad a week ago. Their foliage materials look and feel right; others make stuff that just does not look as good nor does it "take" to the landscape as well. Others do not make products like Latex for modeling rocks or grasses for modeling wheat or hay or tall grasses. They do. After a while, you find a company that does it all and does it well and - if you are lucky enough to find them - you then decide to stick with them. I am at that stage with Woodland Scenics. Try their products and I bet you will agree.

My 2nd grade daughter needed to make a valley diorama for her school project. I didn't know where to begin. This was easy to use, it came out GREAT - and we had fun working together on it!

This was a pretty neat kit and easier to complete than it looks. However, it came without the talus rocks...so we had to improvise because we were in a time crunch. Make sure you get all the parts it says it comes with so you can request an exchange, if needed. We just don't have the time to do that...

We ordered this for my son's school project. He needed to make a diorama for a book report and his book was "The Swiss Family Robinson". I have uploaded some images under the customer photos. The directions are a little daunting at first, but once we got the terrain made with the plaster strips, it was smooth sailing after that. We did have to add two coats of the water since it seemed to soak in. But overall, it turned out great and my son was able to really be involved with every step. We ordered some extra trees and we ended up not using the ones that come with the kit. But the bushes and grass turned out great. It's important to note that the base is sold separately. I didn't realize that until we received the kit and then had to order the base. The product picture shows the base, which is sort of misleading.

Purchased for my 10 year old who had a project to do for school. She had fun doing this but did need help on certain parts. You do need some supplies other than the project-good cardboard cutting scissors & a base-I was going to purchase that part on here but we used a shallow cardboard box & that’s basically what the base is but it’s peicey. You can purchase the same one at Michaels for a fraction of the cost or make your own using plywood or taped & painted cardboard.

Confusing and hard to put together

First the box was not sealed or had any further wrapping. The black plastic base, shown on the cover is missing - you have to buy it separately. Furthermore the plaster cloth within the kit was also missing.

Tres veces lo pedí, y tres veces llegó abierto. Lo esperaba de mejor calidad, y la cantidas de cosas que trae es muy justita. No lo volvería a comprar.
