I purchased this product because I know that red reishi mushroom is good for immunity and promotes calmness. So far I have no issues with it and it's easy on my stomach. Very effective and worth trying.

Each serving has 1.5 grams of Reishi so I personally feel like this is a good value given that there’s 60 servings. The Reishi mushroom is known as the “king of all herbal medicines” for good reason as it has been shown to have the potential to strengthen immunity, be anti-inflammatory, and even assist in cancer treatment. While these are certainly not definitively (YMMV) it has personally helped with my arthritis. Typically I don’t take 1.5 grams as it seemed to be too large of a serving size for me. However, it seems to be doing the trick as my joint pains have considerably subsided and I just feel a greater overall well being. There’s a minimum of 35% Beta D Glucans in this listing as well; I’ve found that this is higher than what most other Reishi products have to offer. A higher the Beta D Glucan is typically desired as they are the compound that give medicinal mushrooms their health promoting properties. I had to take a star off as I’ve found it difficult to get the powder to dissolve in water. Even with my shaker cup, there’s usually always a chunk that I find myself swallowing, which is unpleasant, but not unbearable. If you don’t mind a more watery consistency and have trouble mixing the powder, adding more liquid might help.

I take Rieshi Mushroom Powder based on the research indicating that it is therapeutic and supportive of the immune system. I prefer the processed, extracted powder as opposed to the plain dried kind, as I believe there is a greater bioavailability of this kind. I maybe wrong about that, it's my belief. There is another benefit to the extracted powder: it is approximately twice as concentrated as the regular dried mushroom powder. The somewhat downside of the processed powder is that has a rather bitter, vile taste to it, which I have been unable to figure out how to mask it. So.... this is how I take it: Put 1 serving scoop in a 2oz shot glass, add hot boiling water, mix and let cool to a drinkable temp and shoot it back, then chase with a shot of plain water. I believe letting it steep in boiling water prior to taking increases its bioavailability. I take before breakfast and get out of the way.

I have high standards when it comes to reishi extracts. I'm looking for organic duanwood grown reishi. I'm looking for the use of a dual stage hydroethanolic extract, that produces a fine powder that also includes cracked cell wall spores, and a small amount of organic binding agent. This product is just a simple hot water extract, and quite frankly a sub par one at that. It doesn't even taste like reishi. It's almost as if they substituted a cheaper herb and hoped no would no the difference. It's a bit of a gamble if you ask me.
