Good quality and price
Brilliant knife. Good quality in both the blade and handle, looks like it should cost more than it did. Incredibly sharp, which makes it a much safer knife to use, slices through raw meat with very little effort needed. It is very easy to use for a variety of kitchen tasks. Anticipate this to last quite a while so worth the money.

Cuts Like It’s Auditioning for MasterChef
This knife is sharp enough to make you question every other blade in your kitchen. The first time I used it, I realised my old knives had basically been blunt butter spreaders in comparison. It slices through meat, veg, and bread with such clean precision that I actually enjoy meal prep now. Even chopping onions feels almost cinematic, like I’m starring in a cooking show. The handle is ergonomic and grippy, so even after long cooking sessions you don’t feel like your wrist is going to fall off. The balance is spot-on, making it easy to control whether you’re mincing garlic or tackling a stubborn squash. It feels professional, without needing to remortgage the house to own one. What I like most is the durability. After multiple uses and quick washes, the blade still looks brand new—no dulling, no chips, no drama. It’s the sort of knife that makes you want to cut more things just for fun. Honestly, if you don’t like cooking, this knife might change your mind.

Great little knife
One of the best peeling knifes I’ve ever had, the handle is perfect for me and the curved blade is sharp and makes peeling potato’s very easy.

Really impressed for the price
I've only recently purchased this knife so I can't speak for its longevity/durability, but initial impressions at least are excellent, it really seems to punch above its weight at the price point. It is very well made and solid in the hand and the blade has minimal flex and is very strong. Its the perfect length for slicing anything from ciabatta up to full size loaves (you may need something smaller for small loaves, buns, etc). The rubber grip is extremely comfortable and 'soft grip', not squishy but just enough give compared to cheap hard plastic, its ever so slightly rubberized. It cuts well, The rounded tip is a bonus, since a point isn't required for cutting bread and it makes handling and storage safer. All in all this is extremely impressive for the price point. If it has one failing it is that it perhaps doesn't cut quite as well as some of the very best bread knives, it does cut well but doesn't quite have that "effortless" cutting that the very best knives do - however for the price this is being very picky, it really is very good.

Impressive!
I have purchased many bread knives over the years, always trying hard not to spend a fortune on any particular knife, sadly this has proved to be a false economy though, if I'd known what I know now, I would have just saved up and bought a far better knife the first time, hindsight can be a wonderful thing! What I can say about this purchase is that, thus far, I am very impressed! Yes, it's certainly not the cheapest, but saying that, it's also far from being too expensive. I have used it to cut very fresh, artisan bread and it has coped very well. Applying very little pressure and sawing away, sliced the bread evenly and as thinly as I wanted, without destroying the loaf! I like the extra length to the blade than all previous bread knives I've used. It feels well balanced too and obviously, nice and sharp. Even though this is strictly a bread knife, I actually tried it to carve a roasted joint of beef and it sliced that nice and thinly, an excellent result! Some other reviews have mentioned not liking the texture of the handle, but I don't have any issues with that at all. I pop mine in the dishwasher and it appears to be holding up well. I would say, considering the price paid for this bread knife, it is well worth buying, I am very impressed! Hopefully it will last, only time will tell, but certainly the best value bread knife I have ever bought and I've had quite a few!

Very glad I chose this one.
I have had this bread knife for a couple of months now, and it's one of the most pleasing purchases I've made in recent years. I read a lot of customer reviews of various knives before buying this and the general concensus that it's a good one were correct. I bake my own bread and wanted a good knife to make the most of my limited baking skills. This one surprised me firstly by how large and heavy it is, secondly by how easliy it cuts, even when making thin slices. It's got a good thickness to the blade, so it does not bend or flex and I cannot over stress just how sharp it is. The weight of the knife is more than I anticipated and another good feature of it, making it cut effortlessly. The handle at first glance looks large, but I have found it to be an exceptionally good grip, which is enhanced by the excellent texture of it. I doubt I shall ever need to replace this knife, but if I do, it will be with another one of these. I cannot speak to wither or not it is dishwasher proof as I don't have a dishwasher, but given the materials of it and the quality of construction, I cannot see any reason it would not be. If you are looking for a bread knife, to use each day, as I do, I believe you will be as happy with this one each time you use it, as I am when I take mine out of the kitchen drawer each morning and use it on my loveley homemade loaf.

Perfect blade for bread cutting
Best bread knife I had experience with over decade working in kitchen. Good length and comfortable handle helps with easy use. Stainless steel stays in good condition after years of use.

This is a really great knife. Bought it for my wife who uses it to chop chocolate from 11 lb bars. She loves it! Quality is good and we've had other Mercer products that hold up.

I was skeptic at first whether I would get a proper bread knife that professional culinary school and restaurants used for their daily prepping task. I had this light weighted Japanese stainless steel bread knife that came included in a knives set. Remember guys, any set of knives in a bundle are usually in poor quality. Anyway, the regular bread knife couldn't cut thin slices of bread without puncturing a hole in the middle or shredding off of corners of the crust from each slice of bread evenly.... So the finished product ended up with unevenly cut corner of the bread which makes it toasted unevenly in the oven. After an extensive researching on reviews from Amazon and on Youtube videos. I finally pull the trigger and order one to test out if it matches my expectation. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the knife as the grip of the handle was made of rubber which feels ergonomic to the touch. There's some heft to it too. As I slice my first piece of bread, it glides in gently like cutting through butter with minimum effort and force. It didn't crush the loaf of bread as I press the blade on top of it during the cutting process. It had few little crumbs too! It cuts the corner of the bread without shredding or crushing it as I cut into thin slices. The cheap regular one does the job just fine but it couldn't cut the bread to thin slices without shredding it but no problem with thicker slices... With the nice proper bread knife, I feel I'm in complete control of cutting the size I want without the fear of jeopardising the final product. Overall satisfaction is 10/10. Hopefully, it will stay sharp in the years to come...
