Bought this to help keep my Schnauzers and my adopted retired Greyhounds teeth white and fresh.. I adopted a retired female racing Greyhound a few months ago. She is in excellent health all except her teeth and breath. They were severely stained and her breath was horrendous. I took her in for an initial physical with my Vet. He stated she was I excellent good health, her teeth were badly stained, which was due to the poor diet, racers were fed a high protein not much else type of diet, and no concentration on their dental health. She had a dental performed once she was handed over to the Greyhound adoption agency, But! they just did a basic cleaning. I bought her and our boy (Schnauzer) some C.E.T. dental chew and then read about Oratene water additive. I decided to give it a try. I follow the directions on the bottle and now 2 months later, My sweet girls teeth are now better, the stains are diminishing. Her breath has much improved, But! still a bit bad. . But! one thing I found is not only does Oratene work on the teeth, but! at getting stains out of my White! Schnauzer beard, which was a big issue as well, he has the most amazing silky white coat, but over the last few years his beard has become stained (mostly from his saliva, which has a high acidity) I wanted something that was safe, nontoxic and harmful to help remove the stain . Well after using Oratene not only does he have the pearliest white ivories, But! his beard is now that silky soft pure! white, once again!!. This stuff actually works on both the stains on his fur/beard and helps control plaque on his teeth. I am on our 3rd bottle and now is part of the auto refill/ship along with their food and other pet products we use. I highly recommend this to pet owners who have white dogs/cats. this stuff is amazing at remove stains for not only their teeth but their coats as well

Pros: easy to use, just add a pump to the pets drinking water. No smell. my cats drink their water with no problem. I hope it helps to keep their teeth clean. Cons: I have bought 2 bottles of this and both times, the pump leaks all over the place so the next time I go to use it, the bottle is sitting in a puddle of the gel and gel is dripping from the shelf. I complained to the company but I dont see them fixing this. Customer service : they stand behind their product and are responsive. However, I dont see why a product that costs almost $30 can't have a decent lid and pump that doesnt leak everywhere.

I've tried several powders, but none of them worked a good as this one does. It only took days when I noticed how good Rex's teeth were looking, it's been just over a week and most of the tarter is gone! He's 7 yrs old and I will keep giving him this. I don't normally write revues but I had to share this with other pet parents.

Vet recommended product. But after a few days, my dog seemed to vomit and have loose stool. So i stopped it and the tried again and same thing. Read reviews online that this can happen. Also that it could be spoiled from heat. R expired. Doesn't say refrigerate. So don't really know, but too nervoous giving to my dog. It was a great idea.

This is fantastic product for keeping my dog’s mouth and teeth clean. You have to use more than directed, about 12 pumps for a 24 ounces of water.
