appears to solve my problem
i have yet to use my trailer, but the coupler looks solid and shaped like it will fit...i have a hex bolt right next to my axle and this appears to solve the dilemma :D

Grinding required
Does not fit Bee Cool bikes. Had to grind down the mounting surface, the nut flange to big for the hole on hitch on outside.
